December 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jersey Devil (video game), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 22:08, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Main images edit

There is no need for the main infobox image to be of the most recent iteration; I am pretty sure you know this already as I recognize your syntax and editing style. See WP:CARPIX. Consider starting an account, and perhaps find something more useful to do than just shuffling images around. Thanks,  Mr.choppers | ✎  17:39, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Main images are to be updated to the latest to ensure articles are up-to-date to their fullest (and to avoid confusion), as all Wikipedia articles are to be expected to have accurate up-to-date information, else articles end up looking dated. These edits are not intended to be malicious or vandalism, nor am I looking to butt heads with other editors. 76.135.144.239 (talk) 18:06, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
No they are not to be updated. Read WP:CARPIX. Actually, I will save you the trouble of clicking the link:

The image selected for an article's top (lead) infobox does not need to show any particular version or generation of the vehicle, such as the latest, the last, the first, the best-selling, or any other. However, the image must be representative; low-volume, obscure/unusual, or otherwise unrepresentative variants are generally not preferred for the lead infobox image. Vehicle production date is not a factor when determining the quality of an image and its suitability to illustrate the lead infobox.

I bolded the relevant portion of the text.  Mr.choppers | ✎  19:05, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Outdated. Does it hurt or affect you if someone decides to update article images? No, it doesn't. So stop. You're just looking to pick a fight. Grow up. Antares600 (talk) 22:03, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm with Mr.choppers on this one. As WP:CARPIX clear says, the latest generation is not a criteria. Your change to the Toyota Venza image was to a black image with high glare/contrast (making it hard to see any details) and too close (distorted perspective, making it hard to see the shape). The existing red image clearly shows both details and shape, making it the more useful image.  Stepho  talk  10:43, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
