Is there any source to confirm that this image is of the hanging of Oey Tamba? There are two people being hanged in the image rather than one, and the other pages and origin of the image in the Tropen Museum don't mention anything about who the people pictured are.Davidborgonjon (talk) 15:35, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi Davidborgonjon, you're right. The execution image dates from the 1890s, many decades after Oey was hanged. I replaced the image with that of Batavia in the mid-19th century, which I think is more appropriate. I've done some editing work on the article to improve its grammar and style, and hope that it sounds a bit more encyclopaedic now.
