Nina CompanéezNina Companeez – The correct spelling is Companeez, not Companéez. The "é" is a mistake on IMDB : I have never seen it anywhere else. See here on the official French film industry database. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 10:59, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support - it isn't totally a mistake, it's an attempt to reflect the original Russian Kompaneyets (related to Abba Kompaneyets' Yiddish theatre troupe?) but it occurs rarely in French sources both for her, her father and her singer sister. I just created a stub for the father at Jacques Companeez and have footnoted the surname issue there. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:59, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
It never occurs, as far as I know : I've seen her name written dozens of times in film reviews, credits, etc, and it was never written like that. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 20:17, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jean-Jacques, check out F. Guyot Cent ans de cinéma français: 1895-1995 1994 Page 14 or G. Sellier, É. Viennot Culture d'élite, culture de masse et différence des sexes 2004 Page 110, both have "Nina Companéez". But as I said, it only occurs rarely. Ok, granted, it did occur in print as least twice, but as far as I know, it's a mistake. Or at least, it's so rare that it should not be the article's title. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 11:18, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
