Article name

Neris is a name of shorter part of the river therefore the page should be renamed to Viliya or dual named Viliya-Neris. Unomano (talk) 11:25, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Even more, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Rivers#Rivers_with_multiple_names Viliya meets 1st and 2nd points: 1) Viliya is Slavic name of the river, and Slavic languages a way more popular in the world than Baltic. 2) Much longer section of the river (+17%) is in Belarus, than in Lithuania. • Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. A quick Google search gives 57,100 results for Neris and a mere 1,560 results for Viliya. In addition, this is not about which language is more popular or in which country the river is longer. We use commonly used names and that is Neris. – Sabbatino (talk) 13:56, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

*Support per WikiProject_Rivers#Rivers_with_multiple_names. 'Viliya' search gives less results just because Belarus uses Cyrillic script, not Latin. To be more accurate you should compare Slavic vs Baltic forms: Google search gives 14200+39100+31100=84400 results for Slavic form (Вілія/Вилия/Wilia) which means that Slavic form is more widespread on the Internet than Baltic form of name. I think I must repeat that statements given above are based specifically on WikiProject_Rivers#Rivers_with_multiple_names rules number 1 (common use) and 2 (segment length). • Oppose - common name in English is Neris. Thus, Cyrillic search results are irrelevant. The first 20 Google search results on Wilia (even if adding "river") have nothing to do with the Neris river. Renata (talk) 15:37, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
