Adding Details on Campus and Co-Curricular Activities edit

  • It seems that this article is missing some info on the campus of the institution, adding it in will be better IMO. It will also be great to include some information about the performances of the various co-curricular activities perhaps? ;) Tayx81992 (talk) 01:55, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Yeah agree with that, both should be included as a part of the article, I will add it in shortly while we can sort the details out via this page if needed. Thanks for raising this up! Nchssg'15 (talk) 02:06, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Have updated the article. But I am unsure of the exact date of the official opening, but managed to get the month from a former staff of the ministry. Heard that the stone plaque of official opening beside the school office may have the exact date on it. Nchssg'15 (talk) 05:18, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, saw this article on the waiting list for GA review when looking thru the SG portal. Since this is the only SG article there and is on Education, I shall give it a try.

Okay, first things first,

  • 1) for the history section of the school, I found similarities for some of the paragraphs with the school's official website: http://nchs.edu.sg/about-nchs/ . Any justifications for this not being copied directly? If not, you may need to reconstruct it.
  • 2) I found a couple of dead links for the article, under references: [1],[2],[3],[4],[14](which is a repetition of [1]), [54], [55], [56]. Quite a number of it come from the Ministry of Education so probably might need alternative sources, such as National Archives. Also do try to archive sources esp if they are press releases as they may be there for only a limited period.

I will check on the rest of the content shortly.Muggershell (talk) 05:04, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Okay the content seems quite decent, just with some of the stuffs listed above and below. Good effort!

  • "with the concern from the Ministry of Education that having too many SAP schools would affect the quality of students admitted", sounds abit absolute (and it seemed to be an opinion by officers in the MOE back then as written on the book), so might as well put it less critical for neutrality (should have more than this factor i guess).
  • reference [20] can move to the end of that paragraph, as the source supported the sentence following it too.
  • "school upgrading works are co-funded" : a minor tense issue.
  • Try to list the abbreviations in full where possible, e.g. "SMC"

Thanks for the time For the school history part the school history website is up only on 27 March (as stated on the school's facebook: (https://www.facebook.com/nanchiauhighschool), while the history section content was written progressively since December last year by User:Nchssg'15. So perhaps might suggest the other way round. Nevertheless, I can help to rewrite the section.Lyg 2001 (talk) 06:14, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well perhaps it does made a point suggesting that the site was written after the wiki, but that's quite shocking for the school to do so (anyway out of topic).Muggershell (talk) 06:26, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed all dead links in the article. Also rewrote the history section and the programmes offered as far as I could. Do comment if there is still any issues. Lyg 2001 (talk) 07:53, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Have rewritten the history section again and checked using copyvio detector.JohnLim99 (talk) 08:49, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Okay. As a whole I don't find any big issues with content neutrality, what one would expect about school information is there, not too wordy and are strongly supplied with sources from what I reviewed so far. So I think I should be able to give a grant on this.Muggershell (talk) 09:03, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Official website? edit

What is the official website of the school. Is it nanchiauhigh.moe.edu.sg or nchs.edu.sg? Or both? --Lemongirl942 (talk) 16:36, 26 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Both, but the second of those is the more up to date. -- Alarics (talk) 19:35, 26 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

2700 or 2800? edit

Hi, what is the most accurate number of students of Nan Chiau High School in 1974?

One source declared it as 2700 while the other declared it as 2800. Which is more accountable? Lyg 2001 (talk) 13:47, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Video source which featured the writer of the 2nd source, as well as the principal that served from 1969 to 1988

An article written by an alummus

Guess we will stick to the more conservative figure I guess. It is also reflected in this source. [1] Muggershell (talk) 12:28, 6 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
