Talk:Murder of John Alan West

Articles merged edit

I merged the Gwynne Owen Evans and Peter Anthony Allen pages into this one. They had no biographical other than birth/death dates and a small amount of identical information about the case, while this one has more information about the murder, trial and executions. Also, I added an unreferenced tag to the article, as there are currently zero. I'll try to work on improving that. momoricks make my day 07:52, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Evans edit

A weird fact about Evans, his real name was John Welby and for reasons unknown he pretended to be Welsh, even putting on a false Welsh accent during his trial —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.184.214 (talk) 00:41, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Move article edit

Surely this should be moved to Murder of John Alan West? Any thoughts? Also there was quite a big feature on this case in yesterday's Daily Express, probably mostly sourced from the Fielding book as he is quoted, but useful nonetheless. Worth expanding if anyone feels incluned to do so. TheRetroGuy (talk) 11:55, 6 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

BBC Stories edit

interesting article from BBC Stories that gives a lot of background to this case, and also suggests Evans may have been the victim of a miscarriage of justice. This is Paul (talk) 16:04, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Evans- wording edit

The description of Evans says he was attending a school, and that he sometimes attended a mental colony. Is there better wording than “attended” a mental colony? He was sometimes admitted? I didn’t change as I’m not certain he was a patient. Nelliebellie (talk) 19:13, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
