The result of the move request was: Not moved. Interesting debate, given that technically there was no murder, given the verdict. But ultimately, as pointed out in the debate here, most reliable sources call it a murder so WP:POVTITLE can apply.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:11, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Murder of Deborah GardnerKilling of Deborah Gardner – A killing occurred but the crime of murder is not verifiable. 172.56.1.19 (talk) 05:04, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Using the word sells more newspapers and books but is not a court of law a more reliable source? See also below.--172.56.1.126 (talk) 04:16, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose A finding of not guilty by reason of insanity means that the killer was found to have killed her inentionally. That meets the ordinary meaning of the word "murder" and therefore justifies using that word in the title and in the article.MrStoofer (talk) 09:28, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
From the last sentence in the lead of Murder–suicide, "Ascertaining the legal intention (mens rea) is inapplicable to cases properly categorized as insanity.".--207.62.246.176 (talk) 23:46, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Legally, It's actually a lot more complicated than that. In terms of the normal usage of the word "murder" (deliberate killing), however, this clearly qualifies. I say that as someone who has supported numerous Requests to Move articles from Murder of... to Killing of... or Death of... MrStoofer (talk) 14:39, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, or did she accidently fall on the knife 22 times? Randy Kryn 14:47, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
The move is not to "Death of Deborah Gardner".--207.62.246.176 (talk) 23:48, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
