The result of the move request was: Not moved. Interesting debate, given that technically there was no murder, given the verdict. But ultimately, as pointed out in the debate here, most reliable sources call it a murder so WP:POVTITLE can apply.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:11, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

• Oppose. All inline cites and external links refer to Deborah Gardner's death as "murder". The New Zealand Herald story is entitled "Murder among the martini set". The perpetrator, Dennis Priven, was tried for "murder", not "manslaughter" or "involuntary homicide", and was found to be insane at the time he committed the act, but the fact that the act, itself, had to be termed "murder" was not in question. The title of Philip Weiss' 2005 book about the case is American Taboo: A Murder in the Peace Corps —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 15:09, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

• Oppose A finding of not guilty by reason of insanity means that the killer was found to have killed her inentionally. That meets the ordinary meaning of the word "murder" and therefore justifies using that word in the title and in the article.MrStoofer (talk) 09:28, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Legally, It's actually a lot more complicated than that. In terms of the normal usage of the word "murder" (deliberate killing), however, this clearly qualifies. I say that as someone who has supported numerous Requests to Move articles from Murder of... to Killing of... or Death of... MrStoofer (talk) 14:39, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
