Just ot check: is it true that people in Moselle when they are not speaking French, tend to speak Rhine Franconian/Lorraine Franconian but not Moselle Franconian? --Henrygb 01:22, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

According to my sources, Lorraine Franconian is (a variety of) Moselle Franconian. Further to the west in Moselle, people speak Luxembourgish, and further to the east (and into the NW corner of Alsace) people speak Rhine Franconian. CapnPrep 01:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

You're right. Actually the term "Lorraine Franconian" is sometimes used as a cover term for all three varieties spoken in Moselle, so it should not be used in a family tree. I have removed it from West Central German, and I will update Rhine Franconian and Lorraine Franconian to make this clearer. CapnPrep 15:48, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Moselle Franconian Wikipedia

Does anyone know of plans to expand the Luxembourgish Wikipedia to include other Moselle Franconian varieties? And if not, has there been a request for a Moselle Franconian Wikpedia edition? --Son-of-my-comfort (talk) 13:00, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
