His image
editWhen did he play catcher? I don't recall his being a catcher (we list him as a third baseman), but the picture shows him wearing a catcher's helmet. Can we get another picture or explain the one we have? --Idont Havaname (Talk) 00:51, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- The one he have seems to be a copywritten image, so I believe it'll soon be deleted anyway. matt91486 01:04, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Is there a difference between a regular helmet and what the catcher wears. It just looks like it is turned around. He is wearing a chest protecter however. --Tom 01:43, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Would there be any reason not to include a mention of S.L. Price's book "Heart of the Game"? http://www.harpercollins.com/books/Heart-Game-S-L-Price/?isbn=9780061785443

Number of seasons in the minors
editThe article says he spent 11 seasons in the minor leagues. But his stats page suggest he played for 17 years. Do some of those teams he played for not count as "minor league" teams, or is the number 11 wrong? AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:26, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- It appears that the intended meaning is that he spent 11 seasons in the minors before making his MLB debut. He played 11 seasons before that, but a total of 17 in his career. NatureBoyMD (talk) 13:46, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- That makes more sense NatureBoyMD. I'd like to expand the playing career to explain how he came to be playing for a different team in his 11th season than the one that drafted him. This page suggests he hopped around quite a few clubs during his career. Is it a reliable source? AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 01:44, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- Athomeinkobe, I think Baseball-Almanac is considered reliable. You can also use his Baseball-Reference profile for the same transaction data. NatureBoyMD (talk) 02:52, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
