Miguel Ángel López Jaén → Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen — per the article's own sources at ATP and ITF and other official tennis websites, this should be moved to the common English name of Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:53, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oppose misspelling per our standard practice, the house styles of other encyclopedias and the recommendations (or requirements) of English style guides (including Chicago, AMA and APA): Foreign words and names (especially those of living people) must be spelled correctly with the appropriate diacritical marks. Oppose WP neither encourages nor discourages the use of diacritics. Consensus appears to favour Latinos retaining diacritics in their names. WP:UE says: If there are too few English-language sources to constitute an established usage, follow the conventions of the language appropriate to the subject. One of the two sources in our article uses diacritics, so I think it's a better game to play than cherry-picking or "arithmetically counting the sources". --Ohconfucius ^¡digame! 09:32, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Useless foreign language source that was added AFTER this move request went up. I can add more tomorrow so you'll be able to change your vote. I've not seen consensus saying retain diacritics in tennis articles, in fact just the opposite. Fyunck(click) (talk) 10:03, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
