Exact date of death
editOne obit said he died in a New York hospital, not at home
Multiple articles say he died "late Wednesday" which is August 15, not August 16 - apparently from the NY Times saying "Early yesterday" implying Thursday. Your death date is in doubt. [J Bagwell]
- Depending on the author, "late Wednesday" may mean after midnight... Rklawton 14:19, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Source for saying death is Wednesday - http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20070816/BREAKING05/70816023 which says:
The self-taught musical prodigy died Wednesday night at an undisclosed hospital in Manhattan, said Cem Kurosman, spokesman for Blue Note Records, one of Roach's labels. No additional details were available, he said. Jtbagwelljr 14:45, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- No doubt about the wording - just its interpretation. Rklawton 14:59, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually it was definitely August 16, 2007, 03:00AM in the morning, not in a hospital but at a Hospice in Manhattan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.196.76 (talk) 18:48, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Lifted from All About Jazz
editA lot of this article is lifted word for word from Max Roach's bio on allboutjazz.com, which has no cites. Pretty lazy...

Assessment comment
editThe comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Max Roach/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
I rated the article {{Start-Class}}. Well, exactly as the description of the rating says: This article has lots of good content, but it is completely confusing for an entire lack of structure or any headings whatsoever. Not knowing anything about Roach, I am unfortunately unable to contribute at the moment, but I would really like to see an improved article here. Maybe even a wikify-Tag would be in order. — Mütze 15:38, 11 August 2006 (UTC) |

Percussion Discussion
editThe article mentions that Percussion Discussion was released by Debut and cites a page which makes no reference to this. As far as I can see Debut closed almost ten years before Percussion Discussion was released. Can someone reword this? --103.44.33.104 (talk) 23:28, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
