On 21 November 2022, he was named in the starting lineup in England's first match in the group stage against Iran, in which he impresssed in a 6-2 victory for the Three Lions.[1] However, in the next match against the United States, Mount had a disappointing performance, as England drew 0-0 with the USA, on 26 November.[2] After this match, Mount would find it hard to get back into the team, next appearing as a 76th-minute substitute on 4 December, during England‘s 3-0 win against Senegal in the round of 16.[3] He would come on as a late substitute again in the quarter finals match against France, winning a penalty after being fouled by Theo Hernández, which Harry Kane would miss, as England lost 1-2 and would be eliminated from the World Cup.[4] 92.3.217.116 (talk) 11:56, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
