Requested Move
editAny particular reason this article is named Maersk Line, but primarily (about 90-95%) focus on P&O Nedlloyd? Unless someone can expand the article to focus on Maersk Line, I sugest we rename it "P&O Nedlloyd". Maybe with qualifier to tell people the company doesn't exist anymore. Teral 20:40, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agree. Also suggest moving the Maersk Line specific topics to the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group page where it makes sense and redirecting Maersk Line there. Jawsdog 18:00, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Split Page and General Cleanup
editI'd suggest the Maersk Line header be removed, the P&O Nedlloyd content be returned to the P&O Nedlloyd page (and remove the redirect to Maersk Line of course), the section on Sea-Land be removed (already covered in the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group page), the Maersk Line Limited section have relevent elements moved to the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group#Military contracting section, the Subsidiaries section moved to the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group#Other Activities section, and Company Business and External Links sections be removed. Yow. Looks like a mouthful. Jawsdog 18:56, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Since no objections, went ahead with the above and moved the page. Jawsdog 19:22, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Several proposed changes below.
editHi Wiki editor, I am part of Maersk's global communications team, we realize that no one has really owned the maintenance of our pages and now there is quite a bit out of date. I will upload a number of suggestions here, if you want to contact me and discuss or clarify anything, my mail is philip.lewin and then Maersk (unfortunately our corporate firewall prohibits me from adding comments from a Maersk device or our office network, so I am entering these from my personal computer at home). There is quite a bit on our website that is obsolete or no longer relevant, outdated or changed, and a fair amount of new stuff too. Happy to chat with you if it helps, and thank you for considering our suggestions. Philip Lewin (talk) 12:33, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Under History section, last paragraph update and addition
editSince 1 December 2017, Hamburg Süd had been part of the company. In 2023, it was announced that Hamburg Süd would be unified with the Maersk brand.
In September 2023, Maersk unveiled Laura Mærsk, the world's first vessel capable of sailing on green methanol. Laura Mærsk is a feeder vessel of 2,100 TEU capacity in service on the Baltic Sea. In June of 2023, Maersk also announced an order for six additional mid-sized container vessels of 9,000 TEU capacity, bringing its total order book to 24 new vessels capable of sailing on green methanol. Under 2M Alliance section, and new paragraph update
editIn January 2024, Maersk A/S, an entity under A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk) and Hapag-Lloyd AG (Hapag-Lloyd) signed an agreement for a new long-term operational collaboration called ”Gemini Cooperation”, to start in February 2025. The new cooperation will comprise a fleet pool of around 290 vessels with a combined capacity of 3.4 million containers (TEU); Maersk will deploy 60% and Hapag-Lloyd 40%. Philip Lewin (talk) 12:37, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
Under Sustainability, update last paragraph:
editMaersk set a goal in December 2018 to be carbon neutral by 2050, in 2022 this ambition was accelerated by one decade to 2040. In 2023, Maersk became the first in the shipping industry to have its 2030 and 2040 targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in alignment with a 1.5°C and net zero pathway. These new targets include specific sub-targets for scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and will replace previous targets announced in early 2022. Philip Lewin (talk) 12:38, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
