You need sources edit

You two need to provide reliable sources for those changes. The article text currently reflects what the current sources say. if you have references that say otherwise, then you need to provide a link to them. Otherwise, your changes are just original research and will be reverted. SilverserenC 02:06, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Luke Brugnara was sentenced on $300K tax loss not $45M! This is public record. The AOL article is full of inaccuracies and need to be corrected....Brugnara's 1992-1998 tax returns were NOT part of the indictment; in fact, Brugnara won a Federal Civil Tax Case for those tax years in 2008 in Civil Tax Court...please review PUBLIC FEDERAL COURT DOCUMENTS (civil case Federal Judge Haines, 3/2008; Federal criminal case Judge Alsup 5/2010) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.202.47.21 (talk) 03:16, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Can you give me a link to these documents? That would make it easier. Better yet, can you give me a link to a news article that got the information right? SilverserenC 03:32, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

That fourth one actually says the amount was $45 million, at least for the sale of the four properties (and one in Vegas) from 2000 to 2002. SilverserenC 04:00, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Updates and Edits edit

This article was very POV, with a lot of direct quotes from legal filings by Brugnara, as well as cited statements that weren't backed up by the contents of the cited article. I tried to clean it up, trimming out unsupported statements, and improving the balance of the piece. If anyone has concerns about that, happy to discuss them here. This is now twice that Joshualeverburg1 has reverted my edits with only the comment "reverting vandalism," rather than bringing concerns to the talk page. If there are specific concerns about the edits, I'm happy to discuss them, but the problems with the page were clearly significant, including a very NPOV tone and content mix and statements in the page that were nowhere in the citation provided.BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 12:48, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

And, once again, a mass reversion of edits with the claim that I'm trying to "besmirch" Mr. Brugnara by attempting to make the article NPOV and to have the statements in the article actually be supported by the articles cited. Again, if there are specific concerns or objections to the edits, this talk page is the place to discuss them.BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 22:39, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Las Vegan as source edit

A number of the statements in the article are sourced to a story in the Las Vegan magazine, and I'm skeptical that it really qualifies as a reliable source, as it appears to be mainly a vanity magazine, rather than a real news source. To the extent possible, I've replaced the citations to statements that are sourced from that article to other reliable sources, but there are still a number in there. Thoughts on how to handle this?BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 16:08, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Both this article and the SF Weekly are pretty dubious sources; essentially, they are completely "Brugnara said this" articles, gosh-wowing at Brugnara's personality, and taking his own statements at face value. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 16:45, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
That was my take too. I'll go through and trim some more. Thanks for the feedback.BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 17:01, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 16 November 2021 edit

Luke Bregnara's date of birth is 18 October 1963 as confirmed by the on-line official California Birth Index here: https://www.californiabirthindex.org/birth/luke_d_brugnara_born_1963_8313468 Serendipity94123 (talk) 18:22, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Birth dates have to be covered in multiple secondary sources to qualify for inclusion. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 18:42, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
