Age at death edit

His daughter stated that he was 27 when he died. Do you have better information? If so, what? My experience in these cases is that the family are likely to have the most accurate information. Ghmyrtle (talk) 22:54, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah again my fault! I should have explained the second later reference contains a message from Kathie corecting the previous error

"Kathy Giddarie said... It seems that the popularity of Lord Flea is resurging of late. I think that this is great. He should be remembered. He was only 25 years old at his death in 1959. I am sure, I am his daughter."[1] Hillbillyholiday talk 22:58, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, gotcha. In 2004 she said he was 27, and in 2008 she said he was 25. If it were up to me I think I'd do a footnote. Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:00, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sure if you want to do that _ I'm not sure how! I tried messaging her on facebook earlier, to be 100% sure, but you have to pay $0.99 to contact someone not yr friend now in the U.S. otherwise it goes to a spam folder.. So I won't hold my breath. I even joined twitter and put an appeal out on there! Hillbillyholiday talk 23:02, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
(He does appear older IMO, but I guess that's neither here nor there :-) Hillbillyholiday talk 23:04, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
This contemporary report says 27 as well. Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:05, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

(!) Mmmm.. Tricky. Now i'm tempted to go for the published version as 27, though I know how papers often get ages wrong (it's happened to me), and the other version is a blog. Until family come forward to provide differing sources - I'm happy with changing back to 27. Hillbillyholiday talk 23:12, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Didn't notice your edit and note in the article - loverly job! Hillbillyholiday talk 23:14, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
When sources give different information and one is not obviously more accurate or reliable than the other, I think it's best to give both sets of info and leaving the uncertainty there for readers. Great article! Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:15, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Don't be surprised if the learning2share source get's challenged as non-WP:RS (.. that's probably why it looks so interesting). Martinevans123 (talk) 23:18, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

By the way, any idea why Jamaican musicians like Lord Flea and Ken Khouri have such full articles on Polish Wikipedia?? Ghmyrtle (talk) 23:23, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hadn't noticed that! Ken Khouri needs an article for sure - I've got LLoyd Bradley's Bass Culture which should be plenty enough (with a few extra sources sprinkled in:-) Hillbillyholiday talk 23:32, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

One down... edit

So, who wants to get started on this lot then? Hillbillyholiday talk 00:42, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Great source! I will bear it in mind, when real world doesn't get in the way! Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:31, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora) edit

We have an article on that song, that claims it was written by Lord Kitchener. We should try to clarify the writing credits, if we can. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:30, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Album cover image in lieu of personal one? edit

Could a low res version of the album cover be added? What are the rules on using album covers in lieu of personal subject images? (For that extra in-depth research: [3] In fact a few items listed). Martinevans123 (talk) 12:22, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
