"he became the team's first player to win a full cap for his country without having made a first-team club appearance" edit

GiantSnowman, I contend that Finnsson did not become Brentford's "first player to win a full cap for his country without having made a first-team club appearance". Whether he made first team appearances before joining Brentford isn't the concern of the Brentford record books. Daniel O'Shaughnessy was capped while a Brentford player, in January 2016 and never made a first team appearance for the club. He was the first Brentford player to win a full international cap and and leave the club having failed to make a first team appearance. To me, that's the record that matters. O'Shaughnessy made first team appearances whilst at Brentford - albeit out on loan. The BBC source says Finnsson was the first. Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth. GiantSnowman 16:11, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
The reference to "team", in that linked BBC article, is regarding the B Team, not the Club itself. As O'Shaugnessy was part of the Development Squad and wasn't in the current set-up of the B Team. Brentford had an academy set-up when O'Shaughnessy was was here. The article is refering to the B team only. Therefore, O'Shaughnessy IS the first to be capped before making an appearance. Finnsson is the first "B Team" player in the current model at Brentford FC.Thebees1889 (talk) 12:01, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
