Possible Edits
editSince this album came out about a year and a half ago and is still relevant to us, I'm thinking we can add some information in a couple spots. An excellent addition to the "Background" section would be to explain that when producing this album, the group used the Fractal Audio Systems AXE-FX II Preamp FX Processor to record such a dynamic sound. I found an interview in Electronic Musician with the group where they have a lot to say about the way the recording process was so different with the Fractal equipment. I also think it would help to get some text in the "Charts" section. The album had a good run on the charts so it would be fair to elaborate a little in our own words with legitimate citations about it's lifespan with the mainstream charts. There is also some room for addition in the "Critical Acclaim" section, and maybe discussing the albums notable lifespan on the charts would be better suited for the "Critical Acclaim" section. Just some ideas from a fan interested in paying homage so if anyone agrees and wants to help out, feel free! Andrewjamessteiner (talk) 03:08, 10 April 2014 (UTC)Andrewjamessteiner
Track lengths
editWhere did the writer get the length of the tracks? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.217.170.60 (talk) 22:47, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Rosemary
editI don't think Rosemary is the officially released third single. --69.167.204.2 (talk) 14:05, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've removed both Rosemary and Tempest as singles. No source has been provided for the release of Rosemary as a single. Although Tempest has been available for streaming on websites, no source has been provided for it's actual release as a single. The1337gamer (talk) 14:21, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- Re-added Tempest as a single with a source. The1337gamer (talk) 14:28, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
Anzen Chitai
editWhy do people keep adding the note about a band called Anzen Chitai? Is there any relevance other than the album name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.97.65.214 (talk) 13:12, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, exactly, the only relevance is the album name. Most Japanese people immediately think of the Anzen Chitai song when "Koi No Yokan" is mentioned. It's as if some band had called themselves or one of their albums "Stairway to Heaven" and naturally everyone thinks of the Led Zeppelin song. AlanSiegrist (talk) 14:36, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Whoever it is, really seem to think that it is important enough to continue adding it back.
- Yes, I am the one who keeps adding it back. Why do you think it is unimportant? I think that since the album name is unusual and not in English, Deftones fans might be interested to know where the album name came from and what it means. AlanSiegrist (talk) 20:05, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- There is nothing to indicate that the naming of the album has anything to do with that other band's song. To say that the album name came from the name of an obscure 80s Japanese song is completely unfounded. Any information that the band has given about the name would suggest that they named it after the idea, which is most likely what the Japanese band did as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.193.168.154 (talk) 20:38, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I did some more searching and found Japanese songs with the same name that predated the Anzen Chitai song, dating even as far as 1972, so there probably is in fact no connection other than coincidence. I will remove that sentence. AlanSiegrist (talk) 23:17, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Whoever it is, really seem to think that it is important enough to continue adding it back.
Reviews
editThe Crave Online and Antiquiet reviews are the exact same review, written by the same person. I probably makes sense to remove one of them from the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.43.115.248 (talk) 19:54, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Sputnikmusic Score
editStop altering the sputnikmusic score who ever you are. The score is 4,3 and not 2,5! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.154.234.7 (talk) 12:35, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
- No, it is 2.5. As you can see from here, the staff review (not the contributor review, which is not notable to be mentioned here) is 2.5. Myxomatosis75 (talk) 16:45, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Thats not true, the staff review featured when you enter deftones into the search bar is this: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53428/Deftones-Koi-No-Yokan/ so score should be 4.5 then... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.247.8.81 (talk) 09:40, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- That is a "contributor" review, it is a non-staff review so it doesn't belong on wikipedia. Wikipedia only lists staff and emeritus reviews from sputnikmusic, see here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Review_sites. The1337gamer (talk) 09:43, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Thats the most stupid thing i've ever heard. Why take this score if almost 800 people decided its a 4.3 As you can see with the other reviews the 2,5 is just not representative... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.247.8.81 (talk) 09:47, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia only takes opinion of staff/professional writer reviews. Users scores are inaccurate and unreliable, they badly represent the reception of an album as they only take a small sample of the total users that listen to the album. Look at metacritic user ratings for example, often with videogames, user ratings attract alot of haters and troll ratings so it becomes invalid. The1337gamer (talk) 09:51, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
