RE: Etymology: Bar'am was built and occupied in the time of Sassanid kings Bahram 1-4; the winged victory and the pair of lions found there are symbols of the Zoarastrian angel that their name honors; Judea lay in the area contested by Sassanids and the Romans; Bar'am is particularly associated with the continuing Jewish revolt against the Romans.
