New Section: Correction needed for USCCB role edit

Bishop Farrell's role has changed in the USCCB. He is currently the Treasurer of the USCCB as well as Committee on Budget and Finance for the USCCB, and has retired from his roles on the Migration and National Collections.[1][2] This paragraph needs to be changed to reflect these new roles:

Within the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Farrell is a consultant to the Committee on Migration, which oversees the Migration and Refugee Services department. This department serves and advocates for refugees, asylees, other forced migrants, immigrants and people on the move.[5] Farrell is also the 2009 chair-elect of the USCCB Committee on National Collections, which supports stewardship and coordinates the collections for social justice, evangelization, education and institutional development. He will assume the chair in November 2009.[6]

Named Prefect of the P.C. for the Laity, Family, and Life edit

On 17 August 2016 it was announced that on 15 August, Bp Farrell was named as the Prefect (head) of the new Pontifical Council for the Laity, Family, and Life. (The new P.C. is being created from the former P.C. for the Family and the former P.C. for the Laity.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dcheney (talkcontribs) 13:55, 17 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

All sources call the new body a dicastery rather than a Pontifical Council. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 02:18, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
You are correct - even in the Latin document. Its not yet clear if this is a new class of the generic term "dicastery" used in Pastor Bonus and elsewhere. I'm hoping there will be more clarity in the next 2 weeks. One note on the announcement, although it was made today (17th), it says "in data 15 agosto 2016" (dated 15 August).--Dcheney (talk) 04:02, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Coat of arms edit

Please stop changing his coat of arms to the file containing in its name (Camerlengo). These arms are only used by Farrell in the event of a sede vacante period. Since the Holy See is not vacant, it is inappropriate for us to use or display his coat of arms in such a manner. The (Cardinal) arms are correctly used outside of sede vacante. Thank you. Photo edit

I believe we need an update photo of Farrell, now that he's an cardinal. GoodDay (talk) 19:03, 24 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nationality edit

@Feargal27, "Irish-American" is an ethnicity. Farrell doesn't seem to have much to do with Ireland since his immigration. Being Irish-born is not relevant to his notability. Elizium23 (talk) 16:42, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Elizium23, "Irish-American" is not his ethnicity? Kevin Farrell is by no stretch of the imagination "ethnically" American.
However, your point of his Irishness being irrelevant to his notability I do accept. Thanks for your help. Feargal27 (talk) 17:57, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
