While I'm aware, that the English translations of the novels use the name Shizu, the characters is originally named Shizuka, proven by the fact, that she was named Shizuka also in the Russian translation of the novel by Fjodor Derkach (available on http://www.susi.ru/ring), as well as in the movie Ring: Kanzenban.
