Peter

edit

Peter was one of the four main characters. Why is he not listed in the main cast? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.145.127.6 (talk) 09:41, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's based on the Billing block on the poster. --Ahecht (TALK

Mixed vs. negative

edit

@69.114.132.120: Just saw your edits/reversions so I figured I’d bring it up here to avoid an edit war. As stated in the edit description, I think it’d be a better option to leave it as mixed since Rotten Tomatoes has it at a 55% and Metacritic’s rating only barely edges out my aforementioned “mixed reviews” criteria. Looks like it’s been that way for a while now, but if anyone else wants to chime in on their thoughts, feel free. First time bringing an issue like this up so I have no idea how to @ certain edit groups for their thoughts rofl - Booyahhayoob (talk) 04:58, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Girls in the final scene

edit

Hello. In the film's final scene, there are two girls who hear Jumanji's drumbeats while the game is lying in the sand. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any secondary sources to confirm the location or the girls' nationality; there's also an editorial note stating the location or nationality for the girls shouldn't be added without presenting a reliable source which has been repeatedly removed and readded. Rather than get involved in an edit war, I'm opening the discussion here as per WP:BRD. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 17:51, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

This mentions "French" and actually leans into this characteristic. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 19:19, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Timelines in the film

edit

In the film, there are two different timelines, both of which are set in the present day (in this case, it's 1995): The first one is where Alan is released from the game after 26 years, Sam (Alan's father) is deceased, and the Shepherds' parents are killed in a ski trip. The second one is where Alan reconciles with Sam and eventually marries Sarah, both Alan's parents and the Shepherds' parents are alive, and Alan offers Jim (the Shepherds' father) to work at the shoe factory.

Given that, how should we handle listing the timelines in the plot section? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:04, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

"An alternate version" shouldn't be used talking about the new timeline but "THE alternate" can be used for the Jumanji timeline CyberTheTiger (talk) 20:48, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cast section

edit

In the film, there are two distinct sets of cast lists: the first set that starts shortly after the film cuts to black, which lists the eleven principal and featured actors with no roles, but we can obviously figure them out: Williams, Dunst, Grier, Hann-Byrd, Hunt, Hyde, Neuwirth, Pierce, Handy, Clarkson and Bell Bundy. After that, there's the longer scrolling cast list which lists everyone.

Using Back to the Future (an FA) as a point of reference, I think we should stick to the list of 11 that is the principal + features as per the end credits and if there is any other notable person that secondary reliable sources have noted tied to the film that can be summarized in a prose statement below.

If there are any thoughts or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 04:53, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense to me. I'd be curious to hear arguments in favor of other schema. DonIago (talk) 05:53, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Seems like a reasonable approach. --GoneIn60 (talk) 06:11, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
