We need to have a little work done on this article. Milliot I am not sue who "Voirin" is when mentioned in this atricle. I think that needs to be either defined or left out. Just work on cleaning it up a bit. ThorX 00:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clean up edit

I added a clean up template, let me know if you disagree. ThorX 00:37, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK. It is cleaned up.

In this case, Voirin, is François Nicolas Voirin the teacher of Joseph Alfred Lamy. Voirin was one of the great makers of the 19th century along with his predecessors François Tourte, Dominique Peccatte, Jean Pierre-Marie Persois, and Etienne Pajeot. He (Voirin) played a key role in the evolution of the Great French tradition of Bowmaking, and it goes without saying that his influence on his students and followers is part of the history (that I am trying to describe here). It is also important to show lineage, since many are not aware who came first and who studied with whom etc.

Also, please note that Alfred Lamy and Joseph Alfred Lamy are not the same person. You have linked the talk back page to Alfred Lamy. They are two different people.

Joseph Alfred Lamy is the uncle of Alfred Lamy who was not as notable.

Could you please remove the clean up template now? thank you in advance.Milliot 01:18, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
