Bisexual? edit

There was a story a few years back that he was bisexual. Apparently his marriage breakdown was caused by this. If i can provide a legit source, can someone add a section?. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.107.194.157 (talk) 11:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

perhaps, depends on the source really.--Davidbhoy2805 (talk) 03:00, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposal: John Layfield → John "Bradshaw" Layfield edit

Just an idea, but as this is his ringname, which contains his full name, AND he has been going by since 2004 AND he's called John "Bradshaw" Layfield in non-wrestling appearances, like his appearances on Cavuto on Fox News, I'm proposing we move the article to "John 'Bradshaw' Layfield." Anakinjmt (talk) 17:34, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree--Davidbhoy2805 (talk) 00:31, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

John LayfieldJohn "Bradshaw" Layfield or JBL (wrestler) edit

The result of the proposal was move' --SRX 21:33, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reason - He is best known as John "Bradshaw" Layfield or JBL, he has been referred to as John "Bradshaw" Layfield in real life as well --Brothers of destruction (talk) 18:02, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose both - whats the point in moving it? John Layfield is his real name, and is sometimes referred to as this on screen. JBL (wrestler) will bring in quantifier. Plus quotations in titles I think is discouraged (uncertain however).--SRX 18:16, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose both, however, I would support a move to John Bradshaw Layfield (without quotation marks). RandySavageFTW (talk) 20:11, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Both per SRX. SAVIOR_SELF.777 22:52, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose his real name is John Layfield, and he was known as just Bradshaw for a lot longer (and as Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw for a short period). Darrenhusted (talk) 08:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

John LayfieldJohn Bradshaw Layfield edit

JBL (wrestler) and John "Bradshaw" Layfield have quantifier and quotes (which should be avoided per here. John Layfield sucks. He's best known as John Bradshaw Layfield. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:06, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Snowy Oppose - original discussion that was just archived resulted in Oppose move. I will give my same reasoning, there is no distinct difference, Bradshaw is just a minor alias between his name in parenthesis.--SRX 22:25, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

He always refers to himself as John Bradshaw Layfield. And there's another John Layfield, so this will avoid some confusion. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:30, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes but this John Layfield is the one most known under "John Layfield."--SRX 22:32, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

There will still be people searching for the other. There should be an article named John Layfield. What's your explanation for him referring to himself by John Bradshaw Layfield. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:36, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

My explanation? 2 Words, ring name. Also, if it were a big problem projects would have asked WP:PW to come up on a consensus to make this John Layfield a disam. page, but none yet because this one is more notable than the others.--SRX 22:38, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's my explanation, too. His ring name is John Bradshaw Layfield. Not (page that should be a disam page) John Layfield. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:40, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay but John Bradshaw Layfield is not how Bradshaw is properly placed in the article, plus that Layfield has gained prominence under many other names, just Bradshaw, Hawk, etc.--SRX 22:43, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't matter and best known one is John Bradshaw Layfield. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:46, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Says who? You.--SRX 22:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Maybe the fact that John Layfield Google results get owned by the John Bradshaw Layfield results. I don't know what the hell you mean by properly placed in the article, but I'll fix it if it gets moved. If it doesn't get move, I'll laugh. Ya. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well google hits shouldn't be used in surveys like this because ghits aren't always accurate.SRX 22:57, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Says who. You. RandySavageFTW (talk) 22:59, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, says Wikipedia.--SRX 23:02, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It might be off by a few K, but there's no way it can be off by like 60. And plus John Layfield probally gets a few K from the other one. There's absolutely no way the article should be named to John Layfield. RandySavageFTW (talk) 23:05, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well that's your opinion, but once consensus is made, it overrides your "opinion." And that's the bottom line :)SRX 23:06, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Somebody edited is 2007-2008 section and said "JBL IS GAY" and deleted the section. Might want to look into it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.241.168.38 (talk) 14:12, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Face Turn edit

I think JBL turned face at the last Raw. Should we put it or should we count this as original research? 83.228.30.92 (talk) 12:04, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

JBL KO'd by Joey Styles

Sorry if I've added to the previous guys section. Why is this news, widely documented in respectable pro wrestling magazines and seen by eyewitnesses, continually removed from wikipedia? If someone can explain to me why, I'll not add it again. I think it certainly fits under the "controversy" section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angryeditor (talkcontribs) 17:19, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Theres rumours going round that JBL is retiring at wrestlemania as the IC champ, I was wondering if we should put that in the IC cahmp bit on his page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Devilfreak12 (talkcontribs) 09:47, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

No. Rumors don't belong in an encylcopedia. TJ Spyke 18:51, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Agreeded, it should not be added unless eithre the WWE or JBL himself confirm that he will retire after Wrestmelmania. --76.66.182.53 (talk) 20:00, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adding Manji hold to his movelists edit

Hey, I'm redoing the Professional Wrestling Holds page, adding the manji hold into the list. Particularly in the later half of his career, JBL has often used the manji hold in his matches and I wanted to add the move to his movelist as a cross-reference. A cursury look at his 2008 matches should verify the factuality of what I say: is anyone up to add the manji hold into JBL's movelist? —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChristianColde (talkcontribs) 04:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is there A Source that Said he used it? Like WWE Profile or Anything reliable. Just because you saw him use it donen't mean it is worth mentioning.--It's Me :) O Yea its me.. Washington95 (talk) 02:58, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Punched Out By Joey Styles edit

Shouldn't the multiple reports of Layfield repeatedly "ribbing" Joey Styles -- and Styles punching out Layfield during a WWE tour of Iraq merit some inclusion in this article? If nothing else it should appear under "Controversies" for his reputation as an abusive ribber. Austinmayor (talk) 04:06, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Considering noone of those sites on the first page of results are reliable sources, except the Miami Herald - which doesn't mention anything about Styles allegedly punching JBL, no it shouldn't be mentioned. If you find a reliable source, feel free to add it. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 11:06, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Is this source reliable: [1]? Austinmayor (talk) 03:12, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's not listed at WP:PW/SG#Sources under the reliable section, so I'd say no. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 13:24, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Entrepreneurial background edit

There's not really much in the article about how he made his money, when he came into it and his business dealings. I wouldn't know where to research it, but if anyone knows much about this side of his life I think it'd be an interesting addition. Tony2Times (talk) 00:25, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree, there is much more to John Layfield, including his seven summits attempt, his companies and other business ventures, his short lived talk show on fox 24.129.12.164 (talk) 01:59, 2 February 2013 (UTC)howdoiedit?Reply

Wrestling - Reality? edit

Why have all the wrestling articles have gone from being accurate to becoming like all the stories are real and not staged. Too many wrestling fanbois here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.79.189.52 (talk) 18:54, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad that article was deleted edit

The "JBL bullying scandal" page was great and all, very informative, but it was too far fetched. It sounded like an attack page. It wasn't even that publicized of an event to create an entire article over. Now all we have to do is delete the "criticism and reception of Roman Reigns" page.
