"the law or war" ? edit

"... As Professor Kastenberg has noted, while Turchin may not have been concerned with the law or war, ..."

I know what these words literally mean, but it doesn't seem to make sense. Surely Turchin WAS concerned with war.

Is it just a typo for "the law OF war" (rules of engagement, treatment of prisoners and civilians, and so on), something I would certainly believe he didn't care about? TooManyFingers (talk) 20:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hang rape edit

Is gang rape sanctioned if done by northern soldiers? The pardon and promotion of Turchin by the northern union president Lincoln speaks volumes. This was not an isolated event. Black women were raped by northern soldiers with impunity. ( rape of Columbia SC) Northern apologists can never be forgiven for their promotion of these crimes and double standards. The genocide of the native Americans that followed is unspeakable. 76.114.138.253 (talk) 16:25, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
