Poor Grammar

Many sections in this article suffer from poor sentence construction and grammar. For example, the first paragraph contains this nonsensical sentence fragment: "Trained from a young age and way before he could drive to deliver Tofu to the peak of Mt Akina and unknown to himself." I have edited for grammar and increased clarity where possible, but some ambiguous statements may remain as I did not have time to rewatch the film to clarify all ambiguities in the plot description. NarcissismEverlasting (talk) 00:31, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Relation to Anime

Towards the end of the credits of the movie, something it said stuck out to me. It says "This movie is not derived from the animation series entitled " Initial D " co-owned by OB Planning CO., Ltd." Does this mean that the movie is not authorized by the owners of the Initial D anime and that it is indeed a knock-off? I haven't been able to find anything else out about this. Fast and Furious 3?

I'm pretty much sure that the F&F3 movie has a low or close to zero relationship with the live action film. It's more likely that the movie is made in response to the increasing drifting interest due to Initial D or real-life drifting competitions. I'll remove it based on the reasoning above. Unnecessary Information

While this Name and Places portion of the Initial D article is facinating, it is overly long and some might feel it is of little interest. Either remove it, shorten it, or make it a separate article.

Maximum RPM of the AE86

In the article, it says:

In the movie, the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86) that Takumi drives has the RPM going up to 11,000 RPM, while in the anime, the car can only go up to about 7,000 RPM.

That's not actually true. I consulted my Initial D video files and watched both the anime and the live-action film. In the whole First Stage and the first half of the Second Stage of the anime, the AE86 can originally rev up to only 8,000 RPM (the extreme range; the safe maximum range is around 7,000), but the engine itself got upgraded to 11,000 RPM (the safe range; the extreme range is 12,800 rpm) in Second Stage Act 8, while the tachometer was replaced in Act 11 to display the maximum RPM range. In the film, the original RPM range was not shown, but the engine was also upgraded later in the film to 11,000 RPM (the safe range; the extreme range is more than 12,000 RPM). The tachometer was upgraded a day later. I'm going to edit the article and put the corrections there. The original RPM did only go up to 7,000, but it was changed. When the engine of the AE86 was changed the engine could not go to its full potential because the RPM did not go up high enough. Takumi then asked for help to get the RPM changed. Right before the second battle with the Emperor team, Takumi asked his dad how high the engine could go. He then told Takumi that engine could go up to 11,000 saftly and that is when the engine will reach its fullest potential.

Model of Itsuki's second car

A previous plot note claimed Itsuki "winds up swindled (mentioned by Itsuki's father) — getting an AE85 instead" after his attempt to copy Takumi's success by buying the same car as him. I am no expert on cars, but my understanding from the film's dialogue was that Itsuki had bought an AE86 but it did not perform like Takumi's AE86 because his car had been extensively modded by his father to improve performance, and was in overall better condition. Initial D UK Soundtrack

My addition to this page, mentioning the UK soundtrack which was provided by Fuel, was tagged as citation needed (rightfully), however I dont know how to cite that claim. I own the UK Special release, but the only way I can think of to cite this is with either the credits or with the UK commentary track.
