Hodor (character)Hodor – Per WP:TWODABS. Unreal7 (talk) 10:45, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support: The degree of notability of the other Hodor has been questioned ever since the article was created a decade ago, and it appears that the article has basically not been improved since then. There isn't even any clear indication in the article that the person is known as "Hodor" – that appears to just be his first name rather than a mononym. —BarrelProof (talk) 14:42, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom and BarrelProof. Calidum 16:39, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Tentative support, irrespective of the surgeon's notability he does not appear to be mononymously known as "Hodor". However, a Google search suggests that "Hodor" is sometimes used as an anglicisation of [[]], so there's an argument for making Hodor a primary redirect to that article instead. Also, is the intention to move the dab page elsewhere or to dispense with it entirely? The nom isn't clear in this regard. PC78 (talk) 17:11, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
    • That anglicisation of Höðr is not mentioned in the article on that topic (which does say the term is "often anglicized as Hod, Hoder, or Hodur") and no one seems to have thought to create a redirect or an entry on the dab page for that so far, and I didn't notice it in my own web search results without explicitly looking for Norse mythology. I take that as some evidence that the usage is relatively rare. (There are 33 other redirects to Höðr.) However, it might be worth moving the current Hodor to Hodor (disambiguation) and including that. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:34, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
      • It's already included on the dab page with a hatnote (I wouldn't have known about it otherwise), although that may not be the best way of doing it. FWIW, the Simple English Wikipedia article does include it as an anglicisation. PC78 (talk) 19:09, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. It's clearly the primary topic. Rreagan007 (talk) 18:15, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Neutral, but dab page must be kept Google books clearly shows that Hodor, Odin and Frigg are connected. so Höðr must be listed on the dab page. Likewise Proceedings of the Seminar for Arabian Studies Volume 40 2010 p 253 "The impressive complex at Hodor is not unique to Dhofar as late in the survey a similar set of graves was located on top of a hill near Hanfin. Like the tombs at Hodor. these tombs are also associated with heavily patinated stone paving." So al-Hudfir should also be on the dab page. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:28, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose until BarrelProof retracts their somewhat laughable claim that Höðr is of questionable notability and . The fact that our article on the subject is not complete is irrelevant, as this article is currently much worse, and while notability is generally assumed for well-known Norse gods, the same is not true for minor characters in TV shows and even minorer characters in books. Yeah, this Hodor might currently be better-known among our readership, but a decent case could be made that this article should be merged back into a list of characters and User:The Optimistic One trouted for unredirecting this topic with an article that consisted of nothing but plot summary and uploading a non-free image for use in such an article. • I believe BarrelProof's opening comment was in reference to Hodor Fakih, not Höðr. 07:22, 4 June 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PC78 (talkcontribs) Reply
      • Yes, and that comment did not actually express a personal opinion about the notability of Dr. Fakih – it was more of a comment about the history and content of the article (and the lack of indication that he is known by a mononym). The general neglect of the article gives me the impression that it is not a very frequently consulted topic on Wikipedia. In terms of pageviews, from January 2017 to February 2019, the article about the doctor was getting about 3 page views per day, and the redirect for the fictional character (which was not yet an article) was getting about 88. Since the redirect was changed into an article on 1 March 2019, the number of page views for the character has gone up to about 1300 per day and stayed relatively flat for the doctor. In regard to Höðr, I commented that it didn't seem clear that the name was often anglicized as "Hodor", not about the notability of the topic. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:56, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
