Considering that he did not write in Macanese, which is a distinct language, but was a native of Macau who wrote in Portuguese, it is misleading to call him a 'macanese' writer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.201.225.216 (talk) 09:55, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Actually, Macanese is not a written language, it is a mix of Portuguese and Cantonese. I think it is accurate to call him a Macanese writer (ie. a writer from and about Macau).

Henrique de Senna Fernandes is one of the most popular writers in Macau - that should qualify him, no? Macau is a city with important history and actually has a seat on the international olympic committee. In some ways, it is more important than Wales.
