Duplicate article edit

This appears to be a duplicate article. Most of this content already exists in a more comprehensive article, Politics of Iran. I suggest that any new, sourced content from this article be placed in that article, and then this article should be turned into a redirect. – Jonesey95 (talk) 03:10, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Jonesey95: The article has notability and is different from the Politics of Iran. It seems that this article is main and the Low-related and unrelated topics of Politics of Iran should be moved here.Homiho (talk) 06:33, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I disagree with you. There are separate articles for Politics of India and Government of India or Government of the United Kingdom and Politics of the United Kingdom. However, most of the duplicated information should move to one of them.--Seyyed(t-c) 11:03, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

If the consensus is that there should be two articles, then there should be less duplication between the two articles. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:35, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Misplaced section has been copied to Talk:Politics of Iran#Merger proposal. Please continue the discussion there, as that is where it will be visible to Wikiproject members. --Stfg (talk) 14:46, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

mike pompeo - brian hook & a number of people called iran a kleptocracy marxist totalitarian i added it but it got removed.Baratiiman (talk) 08:08, 4 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

it is also called a kleptocracy.<ref>https://www.aei.org/foreign-and-defense-policy/a-simple-way-to-understand-kleptocracy/</ref><ref>https://editorials.voa.gov/in-support-of-the-iranian-people/5275284.html</ref><ref>https://doublethink.institute/report/bonyad-findings/</ref><ref>https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/fikraforum/view/the-temporary-success-of-irans-proxies-in-lebanon-occludes-a-deeper-shift-i</ref><ref>https://iranprimer.usip.org/blog/2020/jan/17/us-sanctions-senior-iranian-general</ref><ref>https://dw.com/en/iran-faces-protests-international-blowback-after-shooting-down-airliner/a-51970567</ref><ref>https://en.radiofarda.com/a/special-representative-hook-explains-iran-face-sheet-detailing-360-terror-attacks-islamic-republic-/30644249.html</ref> Baratiiman (talk) 08:34, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Baratiiman. Hi there, I've declined your request, as it's not completely clear what you want added. Do you want the page to say Iran is a kleptocracy? Or that Pompeo has called it a kleptocracy? Also, where on the page do you want this added? Furthermore, as you used the {{request edit}} template to make this request, which is designed for users with conflicts of interest (COIs), I must ask if you have a COI with the Government of Iran? If so, you must disclose this. Thanks. Seagull123 Φ 16:53, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Pompeo and hook and DW called it. in a new section or whatever section you see it fit.no COI just need help Baratiiman (talk) 17:05, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Seagull123 .Baratiiman (talk) 17:06, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Baratiiman: in that case, as you don't have a COI, you should follow the BOLD, revert, discuss cycle, and discuss the issue here with the editor who removed it, as this page isn't protected from editing - in this case, it's @Pahlevun. Seagull123 Φ 17:21, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Seagull123: Thank you for pinging me, I was not notified. @Baratiiman: First of all, the sentence you added It has been called a kleptocracy that benefits the governing elite, & marxist totalitarian theocracy, ideocracy because of education in Iran & brain drain in Iran by politicians including Brian Hook is hard to understand. Moreover, this reminds me of when you insisted that "iran is evidently not unicameral" (here) based on synthesizing poor sources that did not support that. You want the article to mention that Iranian regime is kleptocratic, ideocratic or whatever else? Just find a scholarly peer-reviewed source that explicitly says so. Your edit clearly violates WP:SYNTH, let alone WP:RS issues. Pahlevun (talk) 17:50, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Human rights violations edit

Several editors have repeatedly added a section named Human Rights Violations containing the downing of Ukrainian international airlines flight and Irans 2019-2020 protests. I do not think this is relavent to the subject as the page subject is the form of governemnt of Iran and other pages about countries with dubious human rights record (e.g. Government of China or Government of North Korea) do not mention this AlexBobCharles (talk) 17:32, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

You will find that the Government of North Korea article does mention North Korea's atrocious human rights record and even links to the relevant article. Insanityclown1 (talk) 18:00, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
But it is only mentioned in 2 lines in a section about the judiciary referencing the north korean government detaining lots of people AlexBobCharles (talk) 11:35, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Because North Korea's human rights violations track record is a mile long... Insanityclown1 (talk) 18:24, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
So is Irans. Judging from the North Korea article , It should only be a small note in another section of article AlexBobCharles (talk) 18:26, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
