Withdrawal edit

"The results of this operation are still contested and the number of casualties has not been confirmed by officials, although for now Golani has been forced to withdraw."

This statement is at best a POV. In fact, the Golani Brigade have been shifted to other towns in Southern Lebanon. There is no evidence that Golani were "forced" to withdraw, since the Israeli strategy of relieving brigades by rotation would best desribe why Golani are not operating in Bint Jbail.

OK, fair enough, but I was trying at least to get some more up to date info into this article, as well as material that was actually sourced and referred to specific events, rather than just being vague (and occasionally macho) assertion about Golani soldiers being "excellent warriors" or "well known for lax discipline". As I've asked on the Givati page, hopefully someone will step up and take on the task of dealing with those problems in a more comprehensive way than I've managed so far. Building up from odd pieces of news can sometimes help with that, sometimes not. --Nickhh (talk) 19:32, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

TBH, I wasn't sure whether to revert. The article certainly needs work. Golani actually has a long tradition of rebellions, so mentioning a recent one just because it shows up on Google is somewhat of a recentism. Same for the other piece of information, since there's no real account of their combat history. Cheers, Nudve (talk) 19:37, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
No worries, I think the problem was that I'm not really sure where to start with that work (or even if I want to do it) so just made a tentative stab at kicking it off. I keep looking at it and thinking - someone needs to delete the whole thing and just start again. But I'm certainly not going to try that of course ... --Nickhh (talk) 19:47, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, you're probably right :) -- Nudve (talk) 19:52, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
