Photos needed edit

Some photos of the campus would be great too -- Ryanjo 01:37, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Best Coordinates Link edit

Geolinks-US-buildingscale template was changed to CoorHeader and flagged as "better coordinates link." I'm not sure this is so, since the intial Geolinks-US-buildingscale template automatically made direct links (in external links at the time) to things like Google Maps. The "better coordinates" link (CoorHeader) puts the location in the upper right, but deletes the easy links directly to aerial photos.

Comments? I'll wait to consider reverting back following discussion. -- Quartermaster

I liked the direct listing of links on the page better. It's hard to see the coordinates in small type on the upper right, and most casual visitors wouldn't realize what it links to. I support going back to the prior Geolinks template. -- Ryanjo 15:46, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and changed it back. Feel free to make other proposals. In general, I think WHERE the external geo links go can be improved, and there are other possibilities, but the general CoorHeader link makes things harder for the casual user. -- Quartermaster 20:23, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Famous Alumni edit

Hey, Gahr students, faculty, staff, and alums! Get with the program and start identifying famous alumni. I've already added Jim Zorn and Shane Mack. There have to be more.

If you add someone, try and make sure there's a wikipedia article on them (and if there isn't, write one!). -class of '76

Morris Chestnut

I went ahead and added Morris Chestnut to the Famous Alums listing, but I'm not sure he graduated in 1987 (which I put based on his birth date). Anyone got any documentation on this? I've just found a few mentions in discussion groups online. --Quartermaster 15:27, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

James Ruvacalba is, or is not, a notable alum - discuss edit

Please put rationale for including this individual as a "Notable Alum." He keeps getting added (and has no individual wikipedia article about him yet) for no discernible reason. Listen, I'm a 1976 alum and quite proud of Gahr alums from Barbieri to Zorn, but I personally won't put up with personal aggrandizement (if this is what this is). If Ruvacalba is notable, put the rationale here or I'll keep zapping it. Look at the current notable alums and use them as a loose standard. For starters, a Google search (not definitive) of "James Ruvacalba" turns up zero hits. --Quartermaster (talk) 01:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism alert. Someone has once again been adding the absolutely non-notable James Ruvacalba to the section on Notable alumni. Since these are always from anonymous IP's, and there's no indication of any hint of Ruvacalba's notability I consider this vandalism. If anyone wants to establish Ruvacalba's notability they are free to do so and we can add him to the list of notable alums. --Quartermaster (talk) 11:37, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
