The "uniqueness" of external torpedo tubes seems somewhat questionable:
One unique feature was the use of external torpedo mounts. As well as torpdo tubes in the bow and stern, most French submarines carried torpedo tubes externally in trainable mounts, built into the outer casing.
Several dutch submarine classes also had external trainable mounts: K V and K XIV classes at least had such.MKFI (talk) 13:32, 15 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
