Errr, what?

"Willis is a former Army Ranger and decorated Air Force para-rescue specialist." A Ranger AND a PJ? Why not a Navy Seal while the going is good? Considering this is two completely different branches of the US military...proof of this?85.229.51.18 (talk) 18:28, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Joined the army in 93 for 5 years serving in 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regt then transferred to the Air Force where he served in the 56th Rescue Squadron. Since the 80's all service branches of US special forces serve under Special Operations Command. WatcherZero (talk) 07:52, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

It's also not unheard of to serve in multiple branches. A Korean War Air Force ace (fighter pilot, officer) returned to service as an Army helicopter pilot (NCO) in Vietnam -- 67.70.26.89 (talk) 04:43, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

Wikilinking of episode titles

Does anyone else find the wikilinking of the episode titles unusual? For example, at Forged in Fire (TV series)#Season 7 (2019):

• Ep 12: "The Pira" links to a dab page
• Ep 14: "Frankish Throwing Axes" links to two different articles
• Ep 9: "Military Tribute" seems like an WP:OVERLINK
• Ep 6: "The Boa-zande Sword"

There are many instances of each of these, and probably other types of unusual links. I don't recall seeing this sort of linking in other episode lists – the titles are either linked to an article specifically about that episode or not linked at all.

Also, some of the titles are either unquoted (e.g. Ep 15) or have the quotes around part of the title (e.g. Ep 3). Is this correct? —[AlanM1(talk)]— 04:21, 29 November 2019 (UTC)

I can understand the editors' intent with, and utility of most of them, since the series apparently mostly uses the names of particular swords for its episode titles. I'm just not sure we should be doing that. A parallel example might be, e.g., List of Mayday episodes#Season 19 (2019), which names some episodes after specific incidents, some of which we have articles for (e.g., Ep 12.13 Air France Flight 447, Ep 11.5 Munich air disaster), but those are not linked. The alternative used in that article is a notes column for the link to the subject article for the episode. Knowing the series, the episode title should not be linked, but there is zero harm in adding a column that describes the final weapon challenge of each episode which can be linked. Yes, 9/10 episodes of this series will have the title the same as the weapon, but this approach also cleanly handles the special episodes. --Masem (t) 05:53, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

 Done for now. If someone wants to review the links, that would be great; some of it I wasn't really sure about. The final weapon is missing for some eps. Each episode's final weapon can be found at the episode for watching the page at (for example) https://www.history.com/shows/forged-in-fire/season-6/episode-10 for the Army. Season 8 vs Season 9

Episodes post August 2021 are being placed under a "season 9". I have an iTunes subscription to season 8 and I've been getting all episodes including "200th Episode: Fan's Choice" as part of that.

@Elliot Shank: According to the Forged in Fire Facebook page (announcement dated November 8, 2021), the new season premiered on December 8, 2021. Even history.com is misleading since they don't update their own series and can't be taken seriously. Therefore, the info is good as is (for now). CYAce01 (talk) 00:04, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

Filming Location

The section under Filming a set design is incorrect when it says FIF is filmed in Brooklyn.

I'm having trouble finding a source that meets standards but I know for a fact it's been filmed in Stamford CT since at least season 5 except when they are at some special location.
