Citations edit

None of the listed folk saints have citations next to them. How reliable is the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.181.116.51 (talk) 15:10, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

One could, at will, go through and purge the list of all entries that lack either a citation or a link to an article that contains citations supporting the claim to folk-sainthood. I see the section has recently been tagged as needing citations. If it persists in that state for more than a couple weeks, someone should purge the list.--Srleffler (talk) 04:39, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

San Guivin edit

I wonder if San Guivin has developed beyond a pun on Thanksgiving Day (United States).--Error (talk) 01:54, 4 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Christine Dacera as a Folk Saint edit

Someone had maliciously placed a Filipina flight attendant named Christine Dacera on the list, there are no serious movements that call on her becoming a saint. Dacera has been the subject of Filipino internet memes after her controversial death. Cycadophyta (talk) 02:31, 7 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Since no one had come forward with proof regarding Christine Dacera being a folk saint, I'll just go ahead and remove the name from the list. Cycadophyta (talk) 05:07, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Joseph Stalin? edit

He should be added, in Russia many priests and believers view him in a folk saint way

'Cemetery Saints' edit

Someone has pointed out that there is a difference between cemetery saints and folk saints, but that seems implausible as both are the same thing surely. Bento do Portao and Antonio Marcelino ought not to have been removed from list. Robert444444 (talk) 23:21, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
