Jewish?

edit

She looks somewhat Jewish. Can we confirm if she has Jewish heritage? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.7.209.12 (talk) 21:44, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Birthday

edit

This BLP Privacy is too confusing. It doesn't state why her birthday cannot be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.124.73.35 (talk) 12:13, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, can someone please explain? --2.28.235.134 (talk) 13:31, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
As long as you include a reference, it's not a violation of BLP at all if you want to add someone's birthday to the article :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 13:34, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

BLP sources

edit

User:Boleyn the birth is sourced to a primary (Twitter), ITV is a primary, there's two {{cn}}, OK seems like a weak WP:RS, and last source is about her BF/ex. Seems weak, hence BLP sources. Widefox; talk 22:08, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

The last source being about her boyfriend (but also mentioning her) is not a concern, it is referencing a sentence which is about him and is a reliable source (The Independent). Dates of birth for living people rarely have a source which isn't primary, it's still reliable for this fact. The second source which could be considered primary, ITV, referencing the announcement of the show she would be taking part in and it's therefore very reliable. We wouldn't want primary sources as the main sources, but the balance here is 6 out of 8 sources are secondary. OK can be a little sycophantic, but it isn't sensationalist and they don't just make things up. It wouldn't be a reliable source for a discussion on rocket science, but for information on McCann's life, it is reliable, its approach is certainly not tabloid-like. The article also has the Telegraph, the IB Times, the Independent and 2 articles from The Evening Standard. The only point of a tag would be to help improve sourcing (unlikely to work, this is what there is so far in her life) or if the sources are not reliable (this has 8 reliable sources, 6 of them secondary). Boleyn Half full or half empty really. Primary non-independent for the birthday is the issue. My mistake with the Telegraph source - I didn't read past the Twitter comments for the 3rd place, but did endure the video! OK, leaving this now. Thanks for keeping my edits in check, regards Widefox; talk 12:31, 23 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't object to the DOB being removed, it isn't my addition. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 18:22, 23 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
