Is there a source for saying he went to Terenure College? I can't find one and this article doesn't list it among his schools. Irlchrism 14:23, 17 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Accused

edit

I was surprised to search the article and find no mention of this documentary. Why was it not included? I managed to find some info on this on the BBC's Panorama section and have included a link. Maybe there should be more, but all I can find at the moment are various transcripts. I think it merits a mention. abdullahazzam

Bibliography

edit

The list of published works needs to be compiled into a proper bibliography. Templates exist for just this purpose. I will be attempting to compile Keane's books into some kind of standardised format as it may make them easier to reference. abdullahazzam

Fergal Keane has had a hand in writing three or four more books not mentioned on the current list, plus a couple of audio books. These books should be added to published works, with the audio books in 'cite audio' format. abdullahazzam

OBE honorary, or...?

edit

Is his OBE honorary, or is he a "dual"? I can find no mention of the former, numerous source simply say he has an OBE. Alai 17:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unctuous

edit

"unc·tu·ous /ˈʌŋktʃuəs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uhngk-choo-uhs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective 1. characterized by excessive piousness or moralistic fervor, esp. in an affected manner; excessively smooth, suave, or smug." It seems to sum up his style nicely. Every dying child, a photo opportunity. The article hardly reflects his awful, solipsistic approach to the news. --OhNoPeedyPeebles (talk) 19:11, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Special correspondent

edit

In BBC interviews relating to the Queen's and Obama's visits to Ireland he's been cited as "our special correspondent". Headhitter (talk) 10:38, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

The inverted commas are significant here. --OhNoPeedyPeebles (talk) 19:41, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Akin to Bob Geldof and Bono, isn't Fergal Keane something which is known as a 'Crypto-Jew'?

edit

Should I post my sources or not mention it? I'm a Jew myself bytheway.

Fergal Keane the racist Hutuphobe

edit

For years and years Fergal Keane has been seen as an Hutuphobe by the downtrodden Rwandan masses. Is wiki okay with black African sources which backup the aforesaid?

Up-to-date

edit

This article shows how up-to-date Wikipedia is. It already mentions how Fergal Keane is stepping back from his position as Africa correspondent due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and this was only mentioned on the news tonight (January 24 2020). Vorbee (talk) 18:31, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
