Add a new section
editHi, I have worked on describing the background of where the necessity of feminism came out from Korean society. So the reader can understand why the feminism movement started and how it is specifically different from feminism movement held in other countries. On top of that, I re-arrange the category of information so the heading can deliver the major theme of each section wants to deliver. Finally, I erase the section of "current state of Korean woman" for the reason that the section was being too redundant among the passages and made a new section of "political status of Korean Woman" to note the achievement of Korean feminism movement in the field of law. If you find any wrong information or glitch, feel free to correct and improve it. Thank you Harrykim1025 (talk) 21:24, 1 March 2018 (UTC)

2024 Changes
editHi guys, I have been conducting some significant changes to this article, adding more detail & updating the information. I will not be able to edit the article for a few weeks, however, so it's still a WIP. The social & political inequality section needs significant expansion & development, as well as a second pair of eyes to look over the employment section. Also, anything that can be added to the history (particularly the japanese colonial period & confucianism) would be great. Itzybella8 (talk) 14:57, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Changes
editHello, for the next few weeks I will be editing this page such as re-organizing some sections for clarity, adding links to relevant articles, and any needed copy editing. I have already started done some minor edits, but I am working on adding a section that I believe is missing and would be a good add to the article! Voidchicken (talk) 03:44, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your hard work! I will leave you to make your changes and instead focus my efforts on the 4B movement wikipedia page. Let me know when you've finished and any areas you feel need a second pair of eyes. :) Itzybella8 (talk) 06:42, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
POV
editSignificant WP:POV, WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH, MOS:EDITORIAL, and WP:SYNTH problems in the article.
- The "Stagnation of feminism in Korea" section header is original research, and the section itself is arguably kinda useless/repetitive with other areas. The section header is inferring a pattern from individual data points. I'm not saying stagnation is not happening; I'm saying those kinds of opinions should be attributed directly to reliable scholars/sources. E.g. "Sources x say that the feminism movement has stagnated in South Korea".
- Subjective claims/analysis are being presented as objective fact using Wikipedia's voice in numerous places. See MOS:EDITORIAL.
- Example: "Despite feminism gaining more interest amongst the public over recent years, it is clear that there is still a lack of support for the feminist movement throughout South Korea." (emphasis mine)
- Another example: "South Korean radical feminist online communities, such as Womad and Megalia, have undoubtedly played a role in forming such perceptions of feminism." (emphasis mine)
- Again, I am not supporting/denying these claims, only criticizing how they're presented
This article urgently needs a rewrite; it is a high impact article. 104.232.119.107 (talk) 06:20, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Furthermore, there's a frequent issue with controversial anecdotes (namely crimes) being strung together as if they constitute a pattern. The issue is that the inference of a pattern is WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH, and the controversy associated with each incident being used in these alleged patterns makes the NPOV more serious.
- It is not up for us to judge whether such patterns exist; we should rely on reliable sources that directly say "x pattern exists". 104.232.119.107 (talk) 06:27, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
