Removed contradictory reference edit
"According to Shelby Foote, the gun duel was between Sam Houston and Albert Sidney Johnston. Mr. Foote goes on to explain that it was Houstons pistols used and that Johnston had the duel early in the morning to take advantage of Sam Houstons drinking habits."
It would make no sense for Houston to appoint Johnston then challenge him to a duel. If this is a claim that the story is actually NOT related to Felix Huston (i.e. It was not a duel between Huston and Johnston, instead it was Houston and A.S. Johnston), then please substantiate with a reference and re-post with a clarification. Thx
