Moved to Dreamland (Miles Joris-Peyrafitte film) and Dreamland (Nicholas Jarecki film), since disambiguation by year and genre are equally impossibe (I note that an alternative could have been disambiguation by nationality). "Upcoming" is removed from both titles as superfluous, as it only served to disambiguate from past films with the name. Films being made for future distribution with known titles generally are not disambiguated as "upcoming". bd2412 T 02:31, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

– I'm unsure the best method to disambiguate these sufficiently. I just reviewed WP:NCFILM, and complications arise with these titles since they are both planned to be part of the "thriller" genre, both have some sort of association to the United States with their production (in other words, the use of the word "American" in any applicable disambiguators), and both do not seem to have a planned or projected release date. • Disambig by director is at least a decent alternative for the time being, and once they move to their permanent location once we know the year of the films being released (and if they keep the same titles), the temporary director titles will serve as functional redirects. -- Netoholic @ 21:59, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

  • This article mentions a screening at a Toronto film festival, but it seems like it has no distributor. Also it looks like the other Dreamland film might be having to look for a new title. -- Netoholic @ 01:44, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

• Disambig by director per others as the most reasonable solution. So presumably Dreamland (upcoming Miles Joris-Peyrafitte film) and Dreamland (upcoming Nicholas Jarecki film)? Not pretty but it's only a temporary fix. PC78 (talk) 10:48, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

  I think most of us were just thinking Dreamland (Miles Joris-Peyrafitte film) and Dreamland (Nicholas Jarecki film) as more concise and because they are fine redirects to keep after the releases and page move to their long-term titles. -- Netoholic @ 22:39, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

• Question/relisting why include "upcoming" in the disambiguation? That's clarified in the lead. I see no point in guaranteeing a title change (and updating all the corresponding links) once the film is released. --В²C ☎ 20:27, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

Three movies all called Dreamland

There's the Margot Robbie movie (this article) that is generally known as the 2020 movie (its not out yet) but here named Dreamland (2019 film).

There's the Henry Rollins movie (no article at all, just a red link Dreamland (2020 film) in a few places that actually came out already last year.

There's the Arnie Hammer movie (Dreamland (upcoming film)) that seems to have had a load of different article names, possibly even this one.

– Per the above discussions #Requested move 15 February 2019 and #Three movies all called Dreamland. Distinguishing by year or genre or nationality isn't helpful, but director is. The third article isn't created yet, but I'm assuming that's just an oversight, and so I'm including it in this discussion - I suggest "Dreamland (Bruce McDonald film)" instead of the proposed "Dreamland (2020 film)". Conceivably, it could be distinguished as a Canadian-Luxembourgian-Belgian co-production per imdb, but I don't see that as better. Please note these articles have been moved around to the point of confusion, so a final cohesive decision for all three contemporary Dreamlands would be most helpful. • Oppose since the current setup seems properly disambiguated, not to mention that director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte isn't even a notable figure. I would also argue that Nicholas Jarecki isn't particularly a household name. Hatnotes can be used on the respective articles, and their lead sections' opening sentences should at least prioritize the most noteworthy elements of these films (likely the starring actors), with the directors mentions after that. I would also add the actors on the disambiguation page Dreamland. This way, readers can know if they are where they want to be, and if not, go to the right article. Please explain to me how "the current setup seems properly disambiguated"? In just a few days the Jarecki film will be released - it won't be upcoming then. Are you suggesting the Joris-Peyrafitte should be called Dreamland (2019 film)? And what about the the McDonald film then? Are you really suggesting it be called Dreamland (2020 film) despite being released last year? CapnZapp (talk) 16:14, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

The Jarecki film will have "2020 film" as the disambiguation term. The Joris-Peyrafitte film and the McDonald film (if created) should both have "2019 film" at minimum, and I am not sure what additional disambiguation would help. Erik (talk | contrib) ^{(ping me)} 17:17, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Once the upcoming film has a release date (I assume it'll be either 2020 or 2021), then disambig it to that year. Until then, nothing needs to be done. Lugnuts ^{Fire Walk with Me} 07:58, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

• Comment – According to IMDb, the Bruce McDonald-directed film was screened at several film festivals in 2019, but widely released in 2020, which is the same case as this film. So both films should have the "2019" in it. As this film is American and the other is Canadian, I'd suggest moving this article to Dreamland (2019 American film) when an article on McDonald's film is created, which would be at Dreamland (2019 Canadian film). Jarecki's film should be kept as is until it gets a release date, which obviously won't be in 2019. El Millo (talk) 20:56, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

If it gets released in 2020 then yes, but I haven't seen that anywhere: IMDb has no release date for it, and AllMovie, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic seem to not even have a page for it. El Millo (talk) 01:59, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
