Fair use rationale for Image:Donglogo.gif

edit

Image:Donglogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:23, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Doubtful claim

edit

"Counting six global automakers as partners, it has more Sino-foreign joint ventures than any other Chinese carmaker. These partnerships allow it to produce and sell a variety of foreign-branded products in China including those of Citroën, Honda, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, and Renault."

Peugeot and Citroen are products of the same French company. So it would appear that DongFeng is connected with five global automakers, not six. Unless there is an actual sixth company, not mentioned anywhere.

And, on some criteria, Nissan and Renault are also combined, so that would make it four.Lathamibird (talk) 15:47, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Split

edit

The article need to be split. Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Dongfeng Motor Group were two tier holding companies. But in this article was full of content of the joint venture. See how short Mitsubishi is, and how clearly written of the two article Mitsubishi Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation. Matthew_hk tc 12:37, 28 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Adding Reverse Engineering and IP Theft to the Controversies Section

edit

I was reading this article and linked here. I was surprised there is no mention of reverse engineering and theft of intellectual property. Is there a reason for this omission? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.134.52.73 (talk) 21:41, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Unless there is a reason for this I am not aware of, I will update the relevant section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.41.206.100 (talk) 16:30, 15 October 2019 (UTC) :According to your Linked article. The cited source doesn't mention any reverse engineering or stolen IP. Are there any sources out there, that explicitly state China is stealing intellectual property in regards to DongFeng's humvee. Because Dongfeng "Hanma" EQ2050 is powered by an American-designed Cummins V8 diesel, manufactured in China by the Dongfeng-Cummins joint venture. A joint venture would means the Cummin group has allowed its IP to be licensed to Dongfeng in exchange for profit. That's not ACTUALLY stealing but simply licensing and paying the fees legally.
