Cleanup or delete article edit

This isn't a disambiguation page according to Wikipedia:Disambiguation but rather a list of links to articles which are loosely related to discrimination in some sense. I don't think it can be cleaned up sufficiently to conform to Wikipedia:Disambiguation.
WP:DABNOT says:

A disambiguation page is not a search index. Do not add a link that merely contains part of the page title ... Add a link only if the article's subject (or the relevant subtopic thereof) could plausibly be referred to by essentially the same name as the disambiguated term in a sufficiently generic context—regardless of the article's title. ... Include articles only if the term being disambiguated is actually described in the target article.

MOS:DABNOENTRY says:

Do not include entries for topics that are not ambiguous (according to the linked article) with the title. Use list articles for lists of related topics if needed. ... On a page called Title, do not create entries merely because Title is part of the name.

According to these criteria, we'd have to delete all current entries on the page, which means we'd have to delete the page entirely. On the other hand, a page similar to this one might be useful. Maybe we can convert the page to some kind of list article. It could be called "List of subjects related to discrimination in some sense" or something like that. Or maybe it would be better to split the page: Most entries are related to discrimination in the sense defined in Discrimination, i.e. treating people worse than others because they are thought to belong to a certain group, while some entries are related to discrimination in a wider sense, i.e. making a distinction. I was WP:BOLD, cleaned up the page and moved it from Discrimination (disambiguation) to Discrimination (between things). I'm not 100% happy with the new title, but I guess it's OK for now. (Other options would have been Discrimination (information), Discrimination (of data), or something like that.) — Chrisahn (talk) 21:09, 10 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't have a better idea off the top of my head, but this is definitely not a good new title. Bearcat (talk) 17:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 11 January 2021 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Discrimination (between things) → ? – This page was recently moved from its longstanding title Discrimination (disambiguation) to the new "Discrimination (between things)", one day after the mover posted an otherwise unreplied-to question about whether it was really a disambiguation page or not. The new title is definitely improper and not in keeping with Wikipedia's naming conventions, however: in a Wikipedia title, content embedded in parentheses has to be a disambiguator, and a disambiguator has to be a class noun for the type of thing the topic is ("painter", "writer", "novel", "film", "town", "athlete", etc.), but "between things" is not a class noun for a type of thing. I can respect the page mover's concern about whether this was really a "disambiguation" page or not, but it really should not have been moved without any discussion — it needs to either be moved back to Discrimination (disambiguation), or get discussed to arrive at another new title that resolves the page mover's concerns while not being this. • Oppose – move it back to disambiguation. Dicklyon (talk) 18:20, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
That wouldn't make sense. It's a list page, not a disambiguation page. There are no entries that meet the criteria of WP:DABNOT and MOS:DABNOENTRY. See previous section. — Chrisahn (talk) 21:30, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
It makes more sense than this title. Bearcat (talk) 22:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I disagree. The current title isn't great (and probably doesn't conform to WP:NCDAB), but it makes logical sense: this page is about discrimination between things, as opposed to discrimination of people. Adding the word "disambiguation" to the title of a page that isn't a disambiguation page wouldn't make sense – it would be illogical. — Chrisahn (talk) 23:48, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

None of which apply to "between things" at all. Bearcat (talk) 22:29, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support – but what should be the new title? The problem is that there are basically two meanings of the word "discrimination", and while it's easy to define each in a sentence, it's hard to distinguish them by adding one noun or adjective. Wiktionary says:
  1. distinct treatment of an individual or group to their disadvantage
  2. the act of discriminating, discerning, distinguishing, noting or perceiving differences between things
The former is the subject of the Discrimination article. Articles which use the word in the latter meaning are listed on this page. Both meanings are concepts (as opposed to more concrete things like "painter", "writer", "novel", "film", "town", "athlete", etc.), so using "the type of thing the topic is", i.e. "Discrimination (concept)", doesn't work – it would apply to both.
Maybe "Discrimination (generic concept)" or "Discrimination (generic term)" would work for the "discriminating between things" meaning? Or should we try to grasp the broader meaning in a word or two, e.g. "Discrimination (distinction)", "Discrimination (perception of differences)" or "Discrimination (information processing)"?
The most precise description of the current content of this page would be something like "List of articles related to discrimination in the sense of distinguishing things", but I don't think that would be a good title... :-)Chrisahn (talk) 23:24, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Move to Discrimination (disambiguation). This looks like a disambiguation page to me. Rreagan007 (talk) 20:28, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose a move to (disambiguation). This isn't a disambiguation page: it's full of WP:Partial title matches of the type that are specifically discouraged. (I'm wondering if the page has any utility at all: using Search for "Discrimination" may give better results, although I admit there are a lot of returns.) The current title might not be very pretty, but it's clear what the article is about, and it's more concise than the accurate "List of articles related to discrimination in the sense of distinguishing things" . • Move to Discrimination (information). These all seem informational to me. If any aren't, drop them into a "See also" section. BD2412 T 06:53, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support move to something else. The current title is rather suboptimal, but it is very difficult to think of a good replacement. Hopefully we can at least reach consensus on whether this is a disambiguation page or a list page (whether this should be "List of …" or not). Personally, I think it should be something near "List of articles related to differentiatory discrimination". — Twassman [Talk·Contribs] 01:49, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support BD2412's alternative. They're all vaguely information related and it fits the bill as a more formal, noun-based parenthetical term. SITH (talk) 22:01, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
