Prequel?

edit

I don't think I understand. How can it be a prequel when no characters seem to share names with the original? --Kjoonlee 14:40, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're right, it's not a prequel; the writer calls it a "re-imagining", so I've changed the lead to reflect that. It's not a prequel or sequel to Dirty Dancing. -- Jim Douglas 18:13, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
And yet someone reverts this, I ask again the same question, how is this a prequel? 69.157.70.22 (talk) 21:59, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I would think it's a prequel because Patrick Swayze is almost certainly meant to be playing the same character as he did in Dirty Dancing, in a story taking place 4-5 years before that film (though he looks older). All Hallow's (talk) 08:17, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Anyone try the wikiquote link? It doesn't seem to go anywhere, or is that just me?

Page moves

edit

Someone moved Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights to Dirty Dancing (2004 film). This move seems unjustified - that was not its name. I have moved back. -- Beardo 14:00, 16 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

"This movie was produced in the UK for purposes of British law."

edit

Something to the effect of the above sentence was shown at the end of the credits to "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights". If the movie was filmed in Puerto Rico, a U.S. commonwealth, how does it follow that the movie was produced in the "United Kingdom"? The US != the UK, and it hasn't been British since the 1770s; meanwhile, I don't think that Puerto Rico was ever British - just Spanish and yanqui. 68.36.214.143 04:41, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Update for Peter Sagal story on this week's This American Life

edit

This story should be updated to include Peter Sagal's interesting story about how, although he is listed as a writer, the film contains almost none of his work. See This American Life episode #383 --Elindstr (talk) 01:43, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
