The result of the move request was: moved. Supporters argued, essentially based on WP:UE, that we should use the the primary spelling that is used in English-language sources. This spelling was found to be with the tilde but without the acute accent, as proposed. (non-admin closure) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 19:49, 5 May 2022 (UTC)
Diana Ordóñez (footballer) → Diana Ordoñez – I think this requires a discussion because most sources I could see has her name as Diana Ordoñez: college, club, FMF. Seany91 (talk) 18:42, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose Anglo speakers wrote Diana Ordonez; for the americans (and anglo speakers) the Ñ letter and accent does not exist. But she was register as Diana Ordóñez in CONCACAF Official match report Match Report. Her father is ecuadorian and her father's surname is Ordóñez. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rey1996ss (talk • contribs) 19:54, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- The issue here is not as you described though: as you see above, all the English-language sources does include ñ so that's not the point. None of the English-language sources includes ó and most of the Spanish-language sources don't include ó either (like her own federation FMF). Also considering that we're at English-language WP, the main issue here is whether her last name is Ordóñez or Ordoñez, and almost all sources point to the latter being WP:COMMONNAME. - Comment I've PROD tagged the article at LeDania; should that be deleted, another possibility would be the undisambiguated Diana Ordóñez. 162 etc. (talk) 20:27, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- I agree that should be moved to the undisambiguated name page if LeDania does get deleted. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:46, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

- Support per nomination and GiantSnowman. Relevant databases, such as Soccerway, Global Sports Archive, Virginia Sports 1, Virginia Sports 2 or Mexican sports news OnceDiario all depict the American-born footballer's surname as "Ordoñez" [with only the "ñ"], not as "Ordóñez" [with both the "ó" and the "ñ"]. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 17:09, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

Diana Ordoñez → ? – Either Diana Ordóñez or Diana Ordóñez (footballer). While the player's English common name may have been "Diana Ordoñez" at the time of the last move request, given her rise in prominence English-language sources have now shifted to primarily using "Diana Ordóñez". For example: NBC Sports, The Athletic, Houston Chronicle, Just Women's Sports, Girls Soccer Network, North Carolina Courage, Houston Dash, Pro Soccer Wire, The Equalizer, NWSL article, NWSL profile. For what it's worth, Ordóñez also uses this spelling on her Instagram. As for the disambiguation, she appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (as the other Diana Ordóñez with an article goes by LeDania), so I don't think the DAB is needed when a hatnote would suffice. S.A. - Comment I've boldly redirected Diana Ordonez to this article. No dabpage needed, WP:ONEOTHER. 162 etc. (talk) 19:49, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Diana Ordóñez as per nom. The sources cited above show that both diacritics are commonly used. 162 etc. (talk) 19:52, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Diana Ordóñez, hatnote between the two. GiantSnowman 20:06, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
