Translation of the 'De frie Danske' to English edit
At some point an editor modified the translation of 'De frie Danske' from 'The free Danish' to 'The free Danes'.
I reverted the edit, because 'Danske' is plural of the adjective 'Dansk' meaning 'Danish', while the (plural) noun 'Danes' can be translated only to the Danish 'danskere' (plural of the noun 'dansker') - which is not in the title. Lklundin (talk) 23:14, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not so fast there, Lklundin!
- I looked up 'Danske' in an older dictionary of the Danish language, Ordbog over det danske Sprog.
- It turns out that an archaic meaning of 'Danske' is as a noun, which is still used occasionally e.g. as Holger Danske.
