A fact from Daniela Solera appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 30 August 2023 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that goalkeeper Daniela Solera had the most touches of any Costa Ricanv player in their opening match of the 2023 World Cup, saving all but two of Spain's 46 shots?

Comment: Probably not enough room to mention it was her birthday, but it could be added after 'World Cup' to cover all angles. Spain got three goals but one was an own goal from a CR defender, so not a Spain shot.
@Kingsif: Maybe a hook based on this, "She preferred playing with boys, but was forbidden from playing on the school team over fears that they would hurt her; when one of the players was ill, Solera asked to play in his place. Even though she had not trained with them, she did play at school breaks, so the match went well and she continued." --evrik(talk)00:42, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Evrik: Hmm - it is distractingly common that young girls have been stopped from playing with boys for no reason but misinformed sexism, but this seems less frequent in non-Western (world) countries, so in the context of CR it's somewhat interesting. Of course, since the same can be said for other players, I'd rather save that hook fact for a player about which there is little else that can be said. If you don't like the current hook, perhaps something about being very successful in Colombia leading to moves to Europe? Kingsif (talk) 01:30, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Evrik: I have to say, I think absolute excellence in her field – and the I've-never-seen-it-before fact of a goalkeeper having more touches than not only some but all outfield players – is more interesting than just saying sexism sucks, perhaps another opinion is needed. And yet you added it anyway. What if every nominator added their hooks to prep as "a placeholder"? You're already the subject of discussion regarding inappropriately moving hooks; I wouldn't suggest you push the boundaries. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 18:58, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
