Question from Archfusionpro

edit

Hi, I’m reaching out for guidance on edits I’d like to propose for the Rebecca B. Alston Wikipedia article. Below is a summary of what I’ve compiled and what I’m hoping to accomplish:

1. Reintroduce a removed biographical sentence that states:
“She continued her studies as a post graduate student at New York University and attended the professional program modules of Harvard Graduate School of Design over several years.”

This information is currently supported by two published biographies from reputable institutions (Octavia Art Gallery and the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art), which are already cited in the article. While not independent of the subject, I believe they are suitable under WP:SPS and WP:ABOUTSELF, especially since the material is non-controversial.

2. Clarify that I have official Harvard GSD course records (1996–1999) that back up this information. I understand they cannot be cited directly due to WP:OR, so I’m only referencing them to reinforce the reliability of the gallery bios.

3. Request help resolving or removing the COI tag on the article. I’ve disclosed that I’m not being paid and have no formal connection to the subject, but I’ve been compiling reliable sources to improve the article in good faith. I’m also willing to avoid direct edits and work through Talk if needed.

4. Seek assistance adding inline citations to the subject’s exhibition history. I’ve collected dozens of citations from newspapers, museum websites, and press releases (e.g., a retrospective at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art), and want to improve the article’s sourcing and verifiability.

Can you review my Talk page proposal before I post it (if I have permission to share it)? Am I correctly handling the COI concern under Wikipedia policy? Is there a better way to phrase or present this material to avoid issues?

Thank you for your time and support! --Archfusionpro (talk) 19:56, 10 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Archfusionpro and apologies for the late reply. In all occasions, your foremost resource should be discussing on the article talk page. If discussions there reach an impasse, a good place to go for resolution is the conflict of interest noticeboard, along with other forms of dispute resolution. Hope that helps, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:37, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Question from Conflictmaster

Hello, how i can get the verified tag? --Conflictmaster (talk) 22:44, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Conflictmaster, I'm not sure what you mean. There is no such thing as a verified tag on Wikipedia. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:38, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Evidence phase of Indian military history extended by three days

edit

You are receiving this message because you are on the update list for Indian military history. Due to an influx of evidence submissions within 48 hours of the evidence phase closing, which may not allow sufficient time for others to provide supplementary/contextual evidence, the drafters are extending the evidence phase by three days, and will now close at 23:59, 8 June 2025 (UTC). The deadlines for the workshop and proposed decision phases will also be extended by three days to account for this additional time.

Hi, you have listed this for TFA at pending for August. I have tentatively reserved a date for it, but if you would still like it be considered you will need to nominate it at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests, which is now open. Cheers. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:35, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: User:Cplover13/Sample page

edit

Hello AirshipJungleman29. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Cplover13/Sample page, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not blatantly vandalism or a hoax. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:38, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Whpq, did you see the first section header? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 19:41, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. I missed that. Thank you for pointing that out. -- Whpq (talk) 19:45, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Problematic Prep Building

edit

Hello, @AirshipJungleman29, I just saw you reverts of my edits of just adding one article to prep sets, I was unaware of this rule. I apoligize and will stop doing it. History6042😊 (Contact me) 00:32, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

History6042, it's more about filling the picture and quirky hook slots, which are the ones most in need of an individual promoter's discretion, and not anything else. Thanks for taking it on board. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:34, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will take this into account now, thank you for letting me know. History6042😊 (Contact me) 00:36, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
History6042, please also note that images "must be suitable, attractive, and interesting" and "must display well in the small size of the main page template"; the image you have chosen for prep 2 is not interesting, and the image you have chosen for prep 3 lacks in clarity and does not display well. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:26, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will take this into consideration. History6042😊 (Contact me) 11:33, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

DYK

edit

Hi there. My DYK nom has been approved but it's just sitting there for some reason - do you mind promoting it? Thanks, JacobTheRox(talk | contributions) 21:35, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi JacobTheRox. There are currently over 230 nominations approved and ready for promotion. As your nomination was nominated only a few days ago, and some were nominated in April, it might be a while before a promoter gets to yours...or it may not, depending on how interesting it seems. Have patience. Best, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 21:52, 15 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle

Hey AirshipJungleman29, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Question from Nancyandthetabithas (21:19, 17 June 2025)

edit

What do I do when I encounter a wikipedia article that appears to be written by AI? Specifically this one, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repatriation_of_Ghanaian_Students_Trapped_in_Ukraine_War --Nancyandthetabithas (talk) 21:19, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

A great and pertinent question Nancyandthetabithas! You're right, that article has all the hallmarks of AI-generation. For the moment, I've draftified it, which essentially means I've removed it from the actual-article-area and put it into the developing-article-area. If you want to know how to do this, I can tell you, but it's a bit complicated and perhaps best saved until you're more experienced on Wikipedia? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:21, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
