Pedophilia charges

Is it possible to remove Pedophilia charges chapter from the article. I think it is irrelevant to his scientific contribution -- Vald 14:10, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

A biography is an article about a person's life, not just their career, and not just the positive things about them. Criminal convictions, especially serious ones, should definitely be included on biographies. That he was only convicted once, and years after he committed the crime in question, is the unfortunate matter in regard to Gajdusek. There should be no whitewashing of serious, deliberate wrongdoing by a notable person, even when he has also done a lot of good work. F W Nietzsche (talk) 06:47, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

In complete agreement with Nietzsche (not something I ever thought I would be typing), I can't even fathom why anyone would even put forward the idea of removing that piece of information. He was a self professed paedophile and damaged many lives, the least we can do is adequately document who the person was, without portraying him as some saint type figure. 82.41.44.188 (talk) 22:28, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Where G. lived after 1997?

In article [1] (in Czech language) Michal Giboda [2] (bio in Czech), a parasitologist, teaching at the university in Puerto Rico passingly mentions that he met Gajdusek (Gajdušek in Slovak transcription) in 1998 at Puerto Rico, "as a broken man, nostalgically remembering children plays at a village near Senica, where he and his brother spent summers in grandfather's house". This sounds more as US than Europe suggested by the text. Pavel Vozenilek 19:28, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
