Does anyone know whether this the same entity as the Central Leading Group for Internet Security and Informatization, or if it is not, what their relationship is? Could it be that the CAC is the executive arm of the Central Leading Group?

Also: is the CAC the same thing as, or related to, the State Internet Information Office referenced to in the Lu Wei (politician) and State Council Information Office articles? -- The Anome (talk) 16:16, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Unfortunately, yes -

The Cyberspace Administration, or the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs, was set up in 2013 with the aim of enhancing China’s cyber security and informatisation strategies. Chinese President Xi Jinping has since served as its chairman

it appears to be the common name for the Central Leading Group for Internet Security and Informatization. See [1] zzz (talk) 00:09, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

I've looked for evidence that it's the "executive arm" or whatever, but there is none - the names "Central Leading Group for Internet Security and Informatization" and "Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs" seem to be used interchangeably, and never appear in the same web page. zzz (talk) 00:50, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

so basically the CAC seems to be the executive arm of the leading group - by default. the leading group is just a bunch of party dudes. the CAC is a whole bureaucracy that is connected directly to that leading group. the article should indeed make this clear. State and Party

The article has been steadily edited over the past few years to clarify and make more accurate the fact that the state CAC is under the party administration of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission to reflect the One institution with two names system.
