George IV
editIf it is called Cumberland Sauce how can it be named after George IV who was never Duke of Cumberland but his brother Ernest Augustus was? Penrithguy (talk) 16:12, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Ubiquitous in Cumbria?
editI call into question the phrase 'ubiquitous in Cumbria' as neither I, or any of my family who are lifelong Cumbrian residents, who had never even heard of this condiment until recently. I have never seen it on a local menu. Furthermore, there is no citation for this statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andehtw (talk • contribs) 19:13, 19 June 2012 (UTC) As a Keswick resident and a former chef I may add that while I was working in various well known lake district hotels, I never made any Cumberland sauce or saw anyone else do so.
