- ... that most of the Chinese in Phoenix, Arizona's Chinatown had emigrated from the same village in Hoping County in Guangdong Province, China? Source: Minorities in Phoenix, P. 93. "Most of them came from the same village in the district of Hoiping in the province of Guangdong.

- The article checks the boxes of length, neutrality, expansion, image copyright, and the hook has adequate citation in the form of a book. With QPQ done, I see no issue here: Trillfendi (talk) 21:49, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
Hook mods
editTheleekycauldron, I don't like the change to "Chinatown, Phoenix". That is completely unnatural and is WP's way of disambiguating since there are many Chinatowns. No one ever called it Chinatown, Phoenix. Can we put this back to Phoenix's Chinatown? The change to the end of the hook is an improvement - eliminating an "in". MB 01:20, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- @MB: I agree, it's a little awkward; I was trying to fix the MOS:GEOCOMMA problem with "Phoenix, Arizona's". Is there no issue there/can you help me out on that? theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 01:22, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- Theleekycauldron, I think it was correct. The apostrophe is "other punctuation". MB 01:57, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- Theleekycauldron, I put that part of the hook back as it was. This wasn't intended to be quirky, but I saw we are low on quirky hooks. We could scrap this hook and go more quirky (but that would require reopening the nom and adding cites in the article) with:
- ... that the "mayor" of Phoenix, Arizona's Chinatown was China Dick? MB 03:24, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- @MB: restoration is fine by me; the new hook wouldn't require re-opening the nom, but ehhh. quirkiness ≠ dirty humour. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 08:44, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- i moved "Phoenix, Arizona's" inside the link, though; it's a little WP:EGGy to just link Chinatown, because then people think it's about Chinatown. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 08:45, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
