I am suggesting this article to be merged into the parent article Exo (band), as the subject is not notable outside of the group. A1candidate (talk · contribs) argues Park merits an article because "the singer has a large fan base, which satisfies the criteria listed at WP:ENTERTAINER" based on one article by The Daily Beast. This is simply insufficient, especially when you consider what the website covers (ranging from his birthday to... his hair). The fact that half the article is about him being in Exo further supports my position that he isn't notable on his own. Half of the references are to articles about the group as a whole, and the remaining half aren't any better. One is a link to a Wordpress blog, two are a link to separate videos, and one is a dead link. Nearly all the information included in this article is already mentioned in the Exo article, and he simply does not meet WP:MUSBIO (noting that Exo's notability is not automatically inherited to each member; Park as an individual does not meet the criteria). So, with that, I'd like to hear the thoughts of others on the matter to come to a consensus regarding the article's fate as a redirect or a stand-alone article. — ξxplicit 02:31, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

  • To be honest, if there were to be extra pages for ALL exo members, it would actually be better. The reasons to this are as noted below;

1. It gives more notable details that are in depth to fans that wants to know specifically about each of them - WHEN MORE INFOS ARE RELEASED 2. It comes up on google, if I'm not wrong. Try searching daehyun on it, a picture and a short description of daehyun comes up on the right side of the search results - this tells us how each BAP members are also getting their own wikipedia page. I'm guessing that most members of groups in SM has their own page(?) Leetuek? Heechul? Taeyeon? Sulli? Krystal? Onew? Not to mention others from other companies - including rookies. As a fan of them, wouldn't it be cool to have them pop up when googling their name? And besides, wouldn't it show popularity(?) && for those who are claiming on how we can create their pages later on, check the next point. 3. I actually think that it's way more easier to update one by one on their in-depth information -as the fan of the specific idol would ofcourse, update it. I know that the infos written on the page is purely what is mentioned on the parent article, but as they grow, wouldn't their infos grow too? Won't they need their own page to put all the details on? - I'm guessing that we wouldnt put every single detail of each member on this one page. AND plus, creating a page for each member right now would save the name from others that might want to use it later on. Best Regards :), a fellow exotic. PS. This is only my opinion on this, everything else is upto you guys, this is just what i think. I apologize for my false claiming if some of my infos are incorrect. ^^ WE CAN START OFF FRESH FOR EACH OF THE MEMBERS - AND BUILD UP AS THEY GROW! We should really just state their simple details such as age, birth month, names and such on the main group page like what others do, while their indepth infos on their own individual ones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.207.145.47 (talkcontribs)

  • support' merge. Building an encyclopedia is not about satisfying fans. That's what fan websites are for... This is an encíclopedia about notable people. EXO members are not notable as individuals. They are only part of a group and have no documented individual activities. Leetuk or G-Dragon or Jajeoong and others, who have separate articles have individual activities besides their band. They have solo projects, act in dramas/musicals/movies or MC on different tv shows, and these are separately documented from their group activites by reliable sources. Please learn to distinguish between fan desires and encyclopedic content. Wikipedia is not your fanclub webpage. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 23:02, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Merge - Its not like Chanyeol is an actor, model, DJ, MC or has done something significant outside the group of Exo. Farjad0322 (talk) 21:37, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
  • This article doesn't really give information that I can't already find on the Exo page

Name in Hanja or Chinese

Chanyeol's Chinese name should be "朴灿烈" (Pǔcànliè). Why is it showing a plain 朴찬열? Please update this soon. Tentenpuri (talk) 10:48, 19 April 2015 (UTC) Source:http://s.weibo.com/weibo/%25E6%259C%25B4%25E7%2581%25BF%25E7%2583%2588&xsort=time&Refer=STopic_subsribe Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

Hyphenate his name

Regarding Chanyeol's name, wouldn't it be safe to have his article titled w/ his name hyphenated? These k-idols have their names spelt that way to conform to anglicized standards. Fellow labelmates such as Jonghyun, Minho and Taeyeon have their article titles hyphenated. Korean celebs like Lee Byung-hun and Kim Tae-hee are examples upon many. Park Chanyeol (born (1992-11-27)November 27, 1992), aka God's greatest creation™ is a South Korean singer, rapper, and actor who is a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO and its sub-unit EXO-K. 95.112.27.54 (talk) 15:10, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

Career section

In my opinion the career section for a multitainer should signify their works in different areas, and Chanyeol's volume of individual activities do not warrant a chronological segmentation (just yet). FoxSerfaty (talk) 04:04, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

Park Chanyeol's name is "Park Chanyeol Paksu" in the Finnish language. This should be added somewhere on his page. It causes confusion to to people who live in Finland who often refer to him as "Paksu." Please make this change as soon as possible. Thank you. Getinmesuga00 (talk) 03:55, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Requested move 26 January 2017

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: No consensus, so not moved.
I looked for guidance in WP:RMCI on what the effect should be of a "no consensus" close, but found none. It seems to me that the possible options are 1/ retain current title, 2/ revert to most recent stable title, and 3/ revert to title chosen by the page's creator. In this case, the current title appears to have been stable for 2½ years, so options 1 and 2 produce the same outcome. Since the current title has been stable for longer than the previous title, I will retain that one. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:09, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

So how is this inconsistent with WP:NC-KO? Other options would be Park Chanyeol or Park Chan Yeol, but aren't really consistent with other Korean names Evaders99 (talk) 07:46, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
A little better, but not really on the money yet. See #Discussion. Andrewa (talk) 00:00, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

I note that this would reverse a previous undiscussed move 08:01, 29 July 2014‎ Sawol (talk | contribs | block)‎ . . (43 bytes) (+43)‎ . . (Sawol moved page Park Chan-yeol to Park Chanyeol over redirect).

Note also that Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Korean)#Romanization of names reads in part Personal, organization, and company names should generally be romanized according to their common usage in English sources. Andrewa (talk) 14:46, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Replying to User:Evaders99's post above:

By all means read me the guideline, it gives me some comfort to know you've read it!

And the three sources you quote are better than nothing, but they don't answer the question. There's no doubt that some sources use both styles. The question is what is common usage in English sources. Individual examples don't address this. And that is why the argument, to date, is not consistent with the guideline. The guideline seems in fact to have been ignored. The name is dropped, but has it even been read? Andrewa (talk) 00:00, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

That's fine if the consensus disagrees. It is apparent that common name VS WP:SINGLENAME conflict, which is being fought on Im Yoon-ah and Jang Wooyoung and other Kpop artists. I have no stake in this single article, only that it be applied consistently. Evaders99 (talk) 03:23, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Don't like to repeat myself, so please see my arguments regarding this in Talk:Im Yoon-ah and Talk:Jang Wooyoung. Technically, Chan-yeol are two separate words that are being joint together. Please see the recent move discussion on Talk:Kim Se-jeong as well. Thanks!--TerryAlex (talk) 18:26, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

Park Chanyeol Page Songwriting Credit Addition: XOXO (Repackage 'Growl') - Lucky

Hi! Someone directed me here because I wanted to mention that I am a new user so I can't edit this page, but it'd be great if someone who can could fix the discrepancy on Chanyeol's songwriting credits. Both he and his fellow EXO member, Baekhyun wrote the lyric for the song 'Lucky' for the album Growl, but it is not listed in the credits for songs he's written. I fixed that for the page for the XOXO album, but this page is protected. It'd be nice if someone could fix this! If not, I'll end up fixing it at some point when I can. Thank you!Berry6104 (talk) 20:58, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Do you have a reliable source for this? Evaders99 (talk) 21:09, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
